What games have/haven't been jackpotted?
Not a JP, but I was dead chuffed to win £10 on Texas Hold 'Em Poker last night. It was my sixth hand, also a record, and the prizes had increased sufficiently for a Full House (which is what I got) to be worth a tenner. Anyone ever managed to JP this? The only straight flush I've seen on a scoreboard was in the bar at Euston station, so clearly someone somewhere has managed it...
When I play Pub Quiz I only ever seem to win £1, maybe £3 tops.
But one time, in a pretty fancy hotel bar (surprised it had a machine) I missed jackpot by one question. The weird thing was I knew I was going to get a good pay because there wasnt one single spoiler question came up at all before the final round.
And I cant remember the question I blew the jp for but from memory it wasnt anything particularly difficult but I had a 2/3 chance with lifeline and lost.
Still only ever JP'd old cluedo (many times), Weakest Link and ancient non touch screen Top of the Pops.

After eight or nine £5s previously I managed to take a £10JP on Give It A Whirl today. Got to 35,000 points with three passes and a try again and thought I'd give it a whirl (as it were), although had a few lucky guesses near the end. I also took a £10 on Su Doku on the same machine (albeit after two bail-outs on the very last question), so doubly pleasing. When added to a £5 Tetris and a £5 on GIAW that I took en route home yesterday from the same machine, a reminder that the city can still pay if you happen by an updated machine at the right moment.
I saw an impressive scoreboard on this this lunchtime - at a venue in the city, one player had scored two straight flushes and about four or five four of a kinds on the same machine. Very impressive stuff. The funny thing is it was looking quite generous when I played it (lots of game continues etc.) so it may be a case of enormous overplaying. Still impressive though.grecian wrote:Not a JP, but I was dead chuffed to win £10 on Texas Hold 'Em Poker last night. I've had a tenner on that but without wanting to sound too picky I thought the jackpot was £20?dmac wrote:I JPed That's Entertainment tonight in that I got a single tenner prize (after 1 round, with 9 lives intact...). Theoretically you can probably get any prize on this game.
It was in that gothic place in Wells Street if anyone cares.
yeah I thought about that after posting. You're probably right.rogerthymes wrote:I've had a tenner on that but without wanting to sound too picky I thought the jackpot was £20?dmac wrote:I JPed That's Entertainment tonight in that I got a single tenner prize (after 1 round, with 9 lives intact...). Had my first look at this yesterday on three machines and manageddmac wrote:yeah I thought about that after posting. £10 2nd go;
£2 first go; and,
£10 2nd go
In the case of machines 2 and 3 I had 9 lives left but not a sniff of a further prize to get up towards the £20. In fact in the case of the £2 win I even got a "restore all lives" bonus once I had almost extinguished the first set- made for an extremely long game.
I think as someone else noted this is quite good VFM for us more casual punters as you are pretty much guaranteed a decent go on it.
As regards the prizes, i suspect that the £10s will dry up once the virgin machines disappear and £20 will be as rare as rocking horse shit even in Thicko Arms territory as anyone who clears the first round can be gifted a prize.
