Im rich
Some guy from switzerland emailed me about that bank account I opened there a few years back; can't believe I forgot about that! there's me looking for a cheap house around the 150k mark and I had nearly 1 MILL! saved up.
Must have been from the Caesers Palace times; I wondered what i did with all that cash.
Anyway, it was very kind of him to remind me, but I guess thats what banks usually do when you don't withdraw you money after a few years, and of course they are very keen for you to take all your money elsewhere. I have duly paid him the meager £150 admin fee (still, its cheaper than Barclays fees) which he understandably couldnt take from the account balance itself. I even tipped him a bit extra because I was so happy to get a reminder about this!
Makes me wonder about security though- I didn't have to sign anything and niether did he! It's probably a good thing I'm going to change banks now then.
Thinking about it, I haven't got my cheque yet?? but I guess the post is just slow from Switzerland? Someone tell me I haven't been ripped off?

There used to be a website devoted to scambusting where the regular posters would lead the Nigerian on and on getting them to dress in daft clothing, send money, get tattoos, convert to a fictitious religion etc etc. The guys on there would post all of the correspondence photos etc. Absolutely top stuff. You needed a lot of time to read through it all mind.Stevie S wrote:I did hear of some fella saying he needed £100 to do something with his account before he could claim the money! and they sent it to him.![]()
Will try and dig out the URL this afternoon and see if its still there
