stopped playing the fruit machines in my pub after work - no matter how much u watch them and who plays them, it doesn't stop people taking lots out of them - we have one guy who comes in nearly every night and does the rounds on all of our machines, does a ten pound tester to see wot its like, if its dead, its dead - if its lively, he sticks with it until it goes. ok, means we don't lose money into them at the end of the night, but also means we're not taking all the money in there either. plus us players who actually work there know all the regular fruit players and are actually mates with them, so we have a very good relationship.

PS - got rid of Vortex, Invincible and Manic to replace them with Suits U Sir, Cash Attack and Open the Box - so theres even less reason to play the fruits in there, they're shit.

?? of course it matters how much you play them; you shouldnt leave them in a state thats ready to pay out big anyway? I can't really understand how a staff 'player' CAN have a relationship with a normal player other than "dont bother coming in here mate, I have them covered'?

na, we let him know which ones have been played and which (if any) have gone...he's gonna play them anyway, but he likes to know. And I have my own place I go to do the machines, i go twice a week, and the bar staff don't have a clue how to play machines...its win win

Just out of interest, which Woking pub is it? I pass through Woking very often at weekends and certain pubs like the Rat and Parrot, aswell as Yates's, are ALWAYS completely burned. Others seem OK, on the other hand.

I shall protect your anonymity if I do wander into said pub in future, I promise :)
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy
