Losing

Post by Bertster_ADS »

I lose about 99 times out of a hundred on machines. Can be 'up' a few quid, but just continue for ages - sometimes hours - until I have lost a lot, often more than 70 or 80 quid. Never ever win as have a compulsive problem and addictive personality so never know when to stop.

I like playing the things and have spent tens of thou. on machines even though I have a job that cannot warrant that type of spending.

I don't know any cheats or anything, never have. Only basic things like 3 holds, blah, blah. Can't be bothered, although ought to really. I am going to have to kick the habit, although if I had a pound for every time I have said that, or "I'm not doing that anymore", etc., I would be a very, very rich man.

Have been reading a fair few posts on here, but am yet to encounter too many people losing absurd amounts like I have been doing on a very regular occurance.

Thanks folks,
Andy.

I used to be hooked big time, went through about £30,000 within 2 years, maybe more :?

I still play but i've learned to limit myself, i'll have the odd tenner when i go out for a pint on a weekend and visit the arcade, casino or service station maybe once every six weeks with a £50 float.

I enjoy playing as much as ever but i have more responsibilities now and i've learned what comes first, i do still find it hard to control myself once i start playing so i just make sure i have no access to anymore funds once my limits gone.

been there done that, bottom line is if u cant kerb it then get help as u need it, the first step is admiting u have a problem which is what u have just done , like fmv says kerb it or set a limit, best way is to if u can afford it and feel like a play walk out with £20-30 cash ( dont play a red of dond) and leave wallet at home with cards in , dont go in an arcade and dont go in anfield 's roulette shop ( not a dig i play them too and lose ) like i say treat yourself now and then or seek help , or 1 last option is if u like playing them download an emulator as its free to play ,
good luck with your choice but make it the right 1

Thanks man.

Where can I d/load an emulator ?

Have been having probs now on the net. Been playing hi-low solitaire and have been getting addicted to it. Won a few quid agood number of times, but have also gone a bit haywire with it and have lost a tenner in as little as a couple of minutes a few times. Haven't been tracking my money with the account which is not good news either...

Online gambling is probly worse than the fruits in my experience, it's a lot easier to get carried away, when adding more funds is just a click of a button!

You sound quite siumilar to the way I was.. I think Im 'growing out of it' though... I haven't been to the bookies for a long time AND im losing motivation to go.., although i do play fruit machines still I USED to be more hooked on the bookies..... I might be able to get away from fruities myself, but unsure.. If your a similar age to me (early 20s) you might just grow out of it like I have..

Sorry to hear of your experiences though. I know how it feels and so do many on here.. Will you become a millionaire through gambling? BIGTIME NO. Those who make money on here appear to live off it, still like working for living.. Ive Learned that gambling is pointless. Say you have £300, then yoor gambling wittles it down to £50 to last a couple of weeks - you appreciate that £50 so much more, and you WOULD have that £50 X many... enjoy life, good luck.. Im still not stopped, but im maturing.

apologies for my spelling.. I know that gambling is flawed.. you back a favourite in a horse race and a 25-1 no hoper romps home by miles.. that made me go RIGHT - What a load of shite this is......... Why bet on it? Trying to make £20 can be the most expensive thing ever for an individual..
