Got this in a pub near me, by the look of it, the board is a direct clone global games machines!!!
if there a link between the two companies?

Dunno where you got that idea from. Unfortunately, pretty much every job you sign a contract for will have some legalese in it that transfers all rights of work/ideas created in company time to the company.

Unless you take the time and chance to strike out parts of your contract (highly recommended, most companies give you a template 'take all your rights away contract'), you pretty much lose your rights to everything on company time.
