Hi SWP
in answer to your previous questions:
-Issue 51 is the current up to date Itbox menu
-Games do come and go from issue to issue
-There are a maximum of 31 game 'buttons' plus managers choice but any number of games can be stored locally on the machine
-New menus update remotely, if a site has 2 machines on different numbers it is either because one comes later on the subscription list or it has bad comms (updates are included in the deal for the Itbox, they're not an extra)
You may occasionally find itboxes with different content, these are ones that are on an ERG (early release group). An ERG is a group of boxes that new content/menus are trialed on prior to general release.
Hope this helps

I saw a non-standard ShítBox in the City at lunchtime. It's marked as Issue 51 and the front screen is the almost the same as other Issue 51s; the back screen has a markedly different selection including old "favourites" such as the Numbers Game, Can You Dig It, and Donkey Derby (marked as All New or somesuch). There's also a celebrity snap game (rubbish), a greyhound racing game (looked rubbish but I could be wrong) and a Jenga themed game (quite diverting and relatively easy to take £1-£2). No sign of Treasure Island or Golden Boot II though (how I wept). Also sounds like the one in Luton that Bob saw.QuizMaster wrote:Dolan is correct. I've seen the itbox with the greyhound racing and snap game on. It also runs Message in a Bottle, Treasure Island and Golden Boot II.

one of the Finchley Rd spoons machines is like that. Played the greyhound game which is like donkey derby except the race is run AFTER you answer your questions. So shit, basically. Also played celeb picking up pairs which has possibilities. Cryptic Clues was back as well, although it's been Manager's Choice for ages on a lot of machines.
On a more depressing note both Hex and Shoot for the stars had gone.

there is an ERG titbox in the 'spoons behind the royal courts of justice if any london players are interested.
i quite like that greyhound game, very stylish although the graphics are just reproduced from their FOBT terminals in the bookies. it seems to me that you get 1000 points for 7 ticks, 500 for 6 ticks and 250 for 5 ticks. any fewer and you get nada. why anyone would play snap on a pub machine is beyond me. well maybe if they used a pack of naked ladies cards from the pound shop. didn't notice MIAB/GB2 though.
it has got rid of WU which is bittersweet.
bitter because WU is a great game
sweet because the SOWPODS wordlist used by WUGM is shit
according to that, INCAPABLENESS is a word. this is clearly nonsense

take it you mean the Knights Templar- that must be the one on the (previously) non-smoking side of the pub as I have never played it. UP get back up West competition is tight enough.
On a happier note, played Cops n Robbers on a Paragon pro today and Got £5 without the asistance of 3 keys. From scoreboard it looked like it had not previously been played.

Yep- the non-smoking bit although to be fair I used to have to hold my fag in my left hand to avoid encroaching even when playin the other one. I've got to say the ban is hitting me hard.
The Paragon pro was a strange one- easy £3 battleships, C&R as reported, Trivial pursuit stingy despite offering up 3 cheeses start, message in a bottle pointless, as was PMP, DOND already ruined, Southpark easy £2, the bee thing pointless, the usual £1 only Bully offering, no easy Guess Who money. Modest profits offset by the fact that I stood in an extremely muddy puddle on the way back which will necessitate an unscheduled visit to the dry cleaners.

mmm paragon. sorry to encroach on fleet street, i don't do it very often.
at risk of straying even further from the topic, the crossword yesterday had quite a pleasing clue "scrambled equaliser, first for manchester city (6,4)"
i was nearby on business so thought i'd grab some lunch and swping over there. ye olde cock tried to poison me with the chicken kiev which cost £6.99 for some reconstituted goo. the menu said something along the lines of "succulent chicken breast" i wasn't having any of that. and the chips were cold. while i was waiting i had a punt on WU in there but you'd already been at it.
i am always impressed by rcj.
and getting back towards the topic i am very pleased with the new monopoly. but it would be nice if rich uncle pennybags did a jig in the middle or at least moved.
