keeping records

Post by pokerpete »

do any of you keep HONEST detailed records?

as a poker player, keeping these records are vital so that you have a true idea of how you're doing. Gamblers lie. they lie to themselves.

I've stood 10 feet behind them and watched them tank £100 into a m/c then when asked how they got on they replied "only about a tenner down" and I think he believed it.

so, records?

Records of what exactly?

I know my worst ever loss on a machine is around the £120 mark. Best day around £300, best week around £700. I also know i've managed to save £2500 over the last 6 months without a job - not bad! :D

I always count my float before I go out and keep a record of winnings/losings in a diary.

I do the same for on line poker.

Don't play that often anymore, but used to keep records of every machine i'd played and whether i was up or down on it.

Still know when playing a machine exactly how much i've put in ... Sometimes i wish i didn't. lol

Would imagine it been hard to play for a living?? I play as a hobby and last year earned half my salary again playing poker which was great. Had some nice wins in big online tourneys highest of which was $7000 which was good annoying thing was went out on a bad beat first place was $47000.

Out of interest Pete I asssume you still play a bit what sites you play on ??

And back on topic I keep a track of all my gamblings fruit machines, poker, football, horses etc. Its the only way I know how I am doing.

I use http://www.dtdpoker.com at the minute. It's the online wing of a live card room due to open in Nottingham in October. It'll be the largest card room in Europe. I know the MD so I've transfered their.

other than that you can't beat pokerstars. the player level is higher than most places but the range of games and player traffic is unrivalled.
