Did you know that the conference is being renamed for next season?

Its going to be called th "Blue Square Premier".

I think the website should reflect this.

For someone who thinks he's doing quite well to get to 1200, I was overjoyed to see a board filled with close-together Zs and other friendly letters.

I was around the 1490 mark with 3 letters left and heading for the rather exclusive-if-much-lambasted-for-being-sad 2000 club with 3 letters left.

A - D - O

ADO. I pressed confidently. A - D - O I pressed again. WHAT!!!!!?!!!!!

No fecking ADO? Honestly, I thought Jeremy Beadle would pop out from behind a curtain and tell me that they were just having a laugh, ADO really was acceptable, I'd won my £4 and all was alright with the world.

Sadly no. I've been in that situation once before (i.e. at 1500+ and had an ordinary word disallowed), I've probably had ADO disallowed too... but honestly, as overly-generous as the new dictionary is, you can't allow such outrages to continue on machines with the old wordlist.

This is why I find the old wordlist is more annoying. It's better to have stupid words allowed than normal words disallowed.

i met a very pleasant publican yesterday who was watching while i played WU on a paragon yesterday. she was quiet as a mouse until i cleared then was very chatty and pleasant and we discussed the catastrophic vulgarity of WUGM. she certainly knew her stuff but i doubt she's a top twenty player as it was pretty easy to top her pub's scoreboard. but it is nice to encounter somebody who acknowledges the skill rather than giving suspicious leers if you dare to collect any money from the SWP machine.

in other news: the old version doesn't recognise JACKPOT as a verb which was EXASPERATING (although i'm pretty sure that is a swop).

in other, other news i have just bumped into both frances de la tour who is a scrawny harridan and luís boa morte who is surprisingly tall too. but fatter.

I broke 2100 today without getting a word of over 200 points (top word was QUIPPED). Surely that's a record of some sort?

Nearly topped the solo record with a 1845 NC (QUIZZICALITIES-aided).

Also, whilst playing Word Cube, heard a bloke tell a little boy who was watching in rapt admiration, 'That's skill, son.' 8)

EXASPERATION is already on there, so as a duplicate it's not allowed. You said EXASPERATING above, so which one was it?

Just realised my Sanchez question was totally irrelevant since Boa Morte isn't at fulham now anyway, but is now at West Jam.

Yes, perhaps the "World's most boring short story" record.
