Okay! Another kebab shop gem has popped up near me..

This time it's a Rampage (Red Gaming) and it's had the top three prize overlays changed:

The triple-bars advertise a £5 win (but pays £7)
The blue sevens advertise a £5 win (but pays £10)
The red sevens advertise a £5 JP win (but pays £15)

The notes down the right hand side (the top feature) have all had their prize overlays changed to £5 wins (but pay all the amounts originally available on the £15 version). So really its set up for 20p/£5JP but in reality its a 20p/£15JP machine.

Just to complete the mess this machine is in, the legal bit at the top says 'No prize greater in value than Twenty-Five Pounds can be won from any one credit etc'. So, couldn't be a more hastily mucked-up rehash if they'd tried!

I had no recollection of what the features were: Eruption, Hot Rod, Force7, Rampage, etc as it's been so long since I'd seen this machine. This wasn't the one that automatically reverted to the top feature if you were offered a normal feature in red with a bonus on the number reel, was it?

I am now extremely unpopular in the Pizza place mentioned above after I dived in there tonight and got a £25 JP from Crazy Cobra within a few minutes of arriving. Feeling a bit awkward, I ordered a small pizza and thought I'd try and remain on good terms with the staff by putting some of it back in and trying to nick small wins here and there. Maybe then they'd think I'd put a load of it back in, and not won quite as much as they thought.

Next board, ARB1 ... £50 more. So bang went that theory! :o ops:

More Kebab Shop shananagans!

£3 into my 20p/£15 Rampage (but advertising 20p/£5) and it Number Runnered - very surprising as I helped myself to £45 only 3 days ago and it was full again today. Got the top after £7 which rolled on and on for £50.

£1 first credit into Spiker the Biker next to it - again a 20p/£15 machine masquerading as 20p/£5 machine - rolled a 4 first spin (IM) and Hi-Lo Notes ran for £45.

£8 in for £95 out, in a kebab shop! Fan-dabby-dozy! :)

nixxy its suprising you always seem to get such great results, often the best you can hope for on every story you tell, bearing in mind kebab shop machines are generally on rock bottom percentages and are often played by staff until they are burnt...

kebab shops are ok, but certainly dont expect such results as nixxy keeps saying.

Quite where in any of my last three posts in this thread I said that anyone should 'expect such results', I'm not sure. That may just possibly be because I never said it.

If I posted about all the times I've wandered into kebab shops and thrown a quick tenner away, or found an old-but-nevertheless-interesting machine refusing to gamble past £1.20, this'd be a very boring forum. Hence when something surprising - and wholly unexpected - happens, I tend to mention it.

You're quite correct in saying that most of the time, machines in these places are similar to those you might find in a travelling funfair - ie. terrible percentage/very low hopper level/monitored and played by staff - alas, for the first time in very many years of 'popping into my local takeaways', I actually got lucky.

Don't get me wrong though - in the long run - I'm flogging a dead horse.
