Would you tell?

Post by PMK »

We've all been there.........

You're in your local arcade, a couple of 'players' come in that although you haven't seen before you can tell no the score. They begin working through the good hi-tecs and maybe on to the GG's/Monops etc. You know there all dead, but do you make the effort to go over and chat to them and/or let them know that you have the arcade covered?

Same as in pubs, although a good player will realise when a hi-tec is dead, would you tell them in advance and save them the initial outlay?

I use to, but just recently a lot of 'players' are coming to my local haunts. Most times finding things dead, but on the occasions I am not around or playing elsewhere, LEAVING them dead!!!

What do you do?

you should demand that nobody else is allowed to win on any machine in your district. they are only allowed to play them for the purposes of filling them up with £1 coins for you.

i mean really, how dare they. this sort of thing makes my blood boil.
nobody ever wins on those things.

I think you've taken my point slightly out of context!!

I wasn't referring to 'ordinary' punters, I was referring to other 'players' trying out your town/area.

My point being, that if I pop out tonight and catch sight of a few 'players' from a nearby area then the chances are I know not to bother trying other pubs and haunts. The same would go for them if they know that generally or most of the time I am on top.

Basically, do you strike up a relationship with them or hope that they find things dead enough times to not bother coming back again?

i know i misinterpreted it, couldn't resist it though. in the swp fraternity there is some collusion, surely it benefits everyone in the long run. except clowns like myself who fill up the bandits for better players. but i don't know.
apologies for hijacking your thread.

Thats were i differ i would talk to them,See what and who they know.Always nice to have contacts,Even if you tell them they are doing your rounds wont stop them.Once you go somewhere a few times and make good money its hard not to go back or even tell there m8s of there experience in your area,And after all they have as much right to play as you do(Even though it can be very annoying).

Me too.

If you can spot them out as being players then as sure as hell they can spot you. Soon enough you'll be playing the dead machines.

If there's a decent batch of machines in 1 place players will come.

People have to learn how to spot dead mech's so let them get on with it, if they are "players" they'll soon see the signs anyway and move on

I do bump into players occasionally, I'm generally friendly with them and they're alright with me. There's only one guy I've ever come across who acts like a spoilt brat who thinks he has a God given right to every machine in the area, it's hardly my fault he doesn't keep on top of them enough now is it

If they are good players I will go and have a chat to them and see whats going round atm, thats how I met some decent players a few months back.

If its a litlle crappy player using his key on a flat extreme thats not even trail holding I will watch happily and let him slot on.

People doing my rounds is not a problem as there are no other players around here as far as I know
