Heh - If Top Gear was playing well (I'd always try one standard-play board before trying the 'method'). I'd force out a JP as opposed the the SS. Found JP used to repeat around 75% of the time, and then you could still get a good SS or £10 next board.

:)

Agreed, this is a method i often play as well, if the jackpot hasnt been taken in a good while the repeat pot builds etc, seems seperate from the speedstreak pass.

Id take jackpot over SS any day. Can also repeat twice.

Yup, certainly had a few £75s or at least £60s from getting the repeat and then gambling up next board. Of course, if it 'Pot Shots' take it and run! ;)

I've had a speed streak before that went £25, then playing remaining credits as you do it gave me a board with red 7s in the window, took the feature and it gambled too cash n grab for a 10er so i took it and ran. so it can definatley still be going after a £25..... but to be honest i never try a board after a SS cause i would imagine more often than not it will be pot shot unless some has done there brains.

I have always gambled up the feature stack on these but it sounds like there was 2 ways too play these, had speed steak many times first board but can see how you make money the other way too if its playing nicely :)

agreed, seen a few people play the jp out on top gear, and its cost alot, even tho its not been pot shotting - why bother doing this, when you can get all the value from gambling features.

Maybe, but the best result I ever had on one of these, was after an England game last summer. It was a Saturday afternoon, and I got to the fruit after pretty much everyone had left the pub. Put £2 in and got on the board. Got an extra life from the first bonus, so thought I'd keep going until that went, then do the gamble. However, I got all the way up to JP on the cash side, then lost the life. So I then took that for at least a £23 profit. It offered a true skill repeat, which left me with the £50. Next £4 in, got another board, this time gambled all the way up to SS, the usual way. It went for £50! (Hadn't seen it do that before!) So had a £100 for £6 in!

Agreed though, I wouldn't usually play it this way, although after that experience, I still always try the initial board to see how it's generally playing.

Not seen one for an age now though, so it's all academic anyway... :(
