Has anybody ever had the JP on this, or for that matter seen the £20 drop down from the top on a continue?

Won many a jackpot on the original version of deluxe, Sabec quickly realised their error and made the Jackpot impossible by only giving you 4 differences on the 9th round (or 3 differences if you had one help etc).
Never seen a JP move down a round in all the thousands of times I've played this game.

Apart from the JP now being impossible, the behaviour of deluxe has not changed since it was introduced, it is still infinately better than std2. The £1/play version of deluxe is the one to look out for, you can often find fairly decent prizes in earlier rounds that would be quite obtainable for a modestly skilled player.step7 wrote:Is any version of STD "better" to play than any other? It's deluxe because it's twice as less lightly to win anything! Unless you have some of time stopping device for when the timer goes into meltdown mode, like in the Simpsons that time with Bart & Milhouse and that watch from a comic. Just give it a click and actually have the human physical time to select the picture differences an win £1 after 3 days of intense playing via 492 consequtive continue games. Well worth the deluxe attachment, I'm sure you will agree.
The old version of 'deluxe' was relativly easy to win a jackpot on, if you knew how to do it. As BJ said, this version was removed a long time ago. It featured mainly on the 'golden touch' machines a couple of years ago (although it was also on some paragons). The game was released on it box terminals for about two days, during which time i managed to get a few jackpots.
I was under the impression that all the older versions of the game had been removed, but this appears to be untrue, as i came accross one the other week. Couldn't believe my luck!!
The new version of deluxe can still be good for a quick £10 or so, but the jackpot is now 100% impossible to win as there are only four differences on the 9th round, yet you are still expected to find five!!!
The main problem i find is that spot the difference just doesn't get played enough. Most terminals (in my experiance) have around five or six games of spot the difference being played per week, although this is obviously higher in some places. This, coupled with the ludicrous 30% payout percentage means that the prize structure never has time to settle down. The best bet is to play the game on paragons, fat box's or Indie terminals, as these have less available games, resulting in more game of spot the difference having been played.
The £1 version is pretty much identical to the 50p version, except that the prize structure is able to drop down slightly lower, and can offer bigger amounts. However, the upgrade to £40 jackpot is irrelevant as the jackpot is still impossible to win!!!
As a final note, i really think it is time that the it box terminals saw a new version of spot the difference. Very few people seem to be playing spot the difference 2 these days (and who can blame them). This game is more than six years old now!!! It surely can't be making much money any more. I would avoid this game like the plague. Unlike the deluxe version, every level does have five differences to press. However, the seventh level is impossible to complete because you can only press a maximum of four differences before the clock runs out. This of course means that the jackpot is 100% unobtainable again!!! (there really should be tighter legislation from the gaming board in my view). The most you can realistically win from this version of the game is £2 (although in the last five years of playing the machine i have had about 10 lots of £3 and one £4!!!).
Anyway, thats all i have to say on the matter!!! Lets hope 2007 sees a new, refreshed version of the game on the it box terminals, although i certainly won't be holding my breath in anticipation!!
