ok, the mech you have is whats known as a "multi-protocol " mech, this means it can operate in diffrent modes, (c-c talk, parallel etc).Matt81 wrote:Mech manual shows 4 flashes means coin inhibited by host machine. How to I make the machine allow it?
Thanks again for help.
if you look on the front of the mech, close to the led and where it plugs into the machine you will see a bank of eight switches.
(i hope that image is similer to the mech you have, if not ignore my ramblings

i suspect the machine is inhibiting the coins because the mech is set on the wrong protocol.
this is controlled by the switches as shown on the image.
you are only interested in switches 1 and 2. ignore switches 3 -8, they should all be switched off.
you will have to try all four configurations, although i think it should be 1 off, 2 on.
always switch the machine off while changing switches, then power up and test with the doors in closed position. (tape up the switches or summit)
try off off, off on, on off, on on
hopefully when you hit the correct one, the machine start accepting coins..

also check the status led on the mech and note down any changes from the 4 red flashes each time you change the switches...
incase we still have a problem

Thank you so much!!!! I owe you a beer or two! This did it. Only issue now is rejected coins drop in the hopper rather than being dropped in the collection tray.buzzer wrote:ok, the mech you have is whats known as a "multi-protocol " mech, this means it can operate in diffrent modes, (c-c talk, parallel etc).

Correct again sir!buzzer wrote:maybe a bit of the plumbing missing, can post a short vid or a couple of photo's of the inside of the machine?
Looks like something is missing. For now I have made a cardboard chute that allows any rejected coins to come out the coin tray. Only issue I have now is that sometimes 50p coins go into the £1 hopper.
I can't see how the coin mech splits the £1's from other coins. I can see that £1's drop down and other coins more towards the front but it's strange as looks like they drop from the same hole.
Really enjoyed playing the machine tonight! Can't thank you enough for your help (and the others who chipped in).
Also managed to figure out test mode and used it to find and replace nay blown bulbs.
I'll post pics tomorrow. Hope it's something I can get hold of.
I'm back home now but will tell my dad to have a look for any loose pieces.buzzer wrote:nice 1, cardboard chutes are fine as long as it works
just dont let anyone use 50p lol
ps have a look down the bottom of the machine, the missing chute might be lying around in there
I took some pics of the mech and hopper and it's clear somethings missing between the two as the coins are just falling roughly where they should be - surprised it works as well as it does without the missing sorter (?). I guess it needs some kind of divider - anyone have a link to this part or what it looks like?
I took these pics before we added our high tech cardboard chute for rejected coins :-)
