Anyone catch this? Very good little program. Particular nice for all you FOBT haters. Nice little section on Scientific Determinism and Chaos Theory. I suggest you all watch.

I was enjoying this until the point he showed when he died.

He said the average age of his death was 82 (i think, but the actual number not really important) and then presented it as a linear function from his current age. That's not right.

Disappointed in the end. I could go into details why but I'll just say I was expecting something more based in mathematics than trying to appeal to the majority. I get the impression the show wasn't quite sure which it was doing.

Well this is as good as you get from the BBC nowadays. Remember when they had just 2 channels? But still managed to put out informative programming. They used to do a lot more Open University partnership. The problem I think stems from making it too accessible. They know most of the people watching know fuck all, and so have to start from there.

I was watching 'Pointless' the other day, and this question came up, under the category 'Famous Johns' : 'President of the USA during the Cuban Missile Crisis."

The man answering had just finished studying to be a primary school teacher. His answer? John Carter.
