Yates IOU

Post by ridye »

Had a £165 bank on a machine in Yates, paid out £50 then alarmed think it was 'Mech note err 15' or something like that.

Gaffer turned it off but refused to turn it back on to see if the error would clear itself, as 'they don't own the machines, Gamestec do' so he would have to leave it off until an engineer was called (He was being a bit of a jobsworth to be fair).

Took my name and number, any experience as to how long it will take for them to give me a ring? Do they work Sundays?

I once had an IOU off a Gold Rush from Yates. After about 8 weeks of pestering the site manager paid me from the safe. It just cleared the whole £105, cause I had £40 odd in the note bank. Was very lucky to see the money.

Does anyone else take matters into their own hands? Fuck what the manager is saying, just a quick off on is all thats needed most of the time, the alarm stops and it pays the remainder, 9 times out of 10 ive plugged it and its initialising before anyone comes over to see what the problem is, if the machine is in an alcove with wall either side is the only time i'll ask for assistance.

I had an IOU on a smash the cash years ago, i was told gotta wait for an engineer blah blah, next time i went in i was told that as soon as i left and the coast was clear the local theiving pikey turned it on and collected my bank, won't be happening again!

How many times does an engineer get to a 'fault' to find its corrected itself, some gaffers/staff really are clueless.

My student bar was notoriously bad for payout errors when they had Red Alert classic in it. Musta broken it about 5 or 6 times? Always the notey. Always got it turned off and on and had my money drop out in coins.

Then they changed it to DOND gold!

Got my IOU fine, anyway here is an interesting one for you lot to explain:

Was on a Red Hot with a 50p £70.00 pot in a quiet pub (And a £50 odd £1 one but I really couldn't be bothered). £30 in, get Deal Or No Deal, £70 box. That'll do for a nice quick profit.

Anyway in my bank it goes, no problems there.

However I collect out and the hopper makes the gurgle noise but no coins come out! Yet my bank goes to £60. Press again and get £30 from the note payout before it decides to revert back to the invisible coins. By this point I had the landlord over to witness what was going on, took my details but not as confident I'll be seeing that money!

Strange supplier for round here too Keeday Leisure?!

(I did shove my hand up the hopper to check no scum had shoved a bit of card up there or something)

I've had a few fresh air payouts, gonna be difficult to prove i think, never had any trouble with keeday, they are from round my way, at least the landlord saw it.

if the engineer is allowed to do an audit on the cash in the machine, you will get the money..

they literally have to take out all of the money from the cashbox, float and note accepter and compare it with the meter readings though... and ultmately this will only work in your favour if the previous audits are correct.
