We get loads of em, I've got a Mod package installed that flags the majority up as red connected with their IP that's been reported as spam by other forum users, majority are software as I'm getting roughly 200-300 registers a day.
But there's quite a few actual people doing it to. 1 of the latest tricks is they register, change their Birthday to say 2 weeks time, then put a big signature with their spam sites, then when it appears on upcoming birthdays a lot of people are nosey enough to have a look at their profile lol

The registration URL will have been added to a database somewhere along with whats required to sign up. Stuff like the captcha code (image verification) and the email address verification can all be easily bypassed automatically.
I had a dig around earlier to see if I could see where it might be coming from, but couldn't find any clues. I can keep looking, but even if you can find out the source, it will still be difficult to stop because they are likely to be using proxied IPs (might be able to do something with a range though).
IPs seem to be from all over the globe , maybe there's a forum for pro spammers somewhere that is retaliating against us banning one of their members........................ a bit like when a pubs phone number gets put up on here!!!!!!
I wouldn't be suprised if it's him...I bet he was the one who put us on the receiving end of millions over the time! The whole spammers thing is new here though, never used to be this bad.
