apps on Mobile phones ask for permission to access various things on your phone for various reasons...

*gps is for local advertising, or for international apps to localise adverts or content to the country you are in.
*camera usage is due to the camera-flash, internal programming requires the camera unit, which is actually hardwired to the flash it will need access to use the phone as a torch
*text message and phonebook are associated location-wise with other updatable media, ie internet history and cookies...

all sounds a bit sinister, but the apps need to access the flash-drive part of your phones memory to individualise adverts...

it is possible to clone the phone via imei, and the sim by the sim number (although obtaining fully blank sims compatable with newer phones is virtually impossible)

if you have ever watched "enemy of the state" the scene where they clone the senators phone is nearly true to life..

phone tapping on a mobile device WILL NOT cause interference on the line, it could result in a delay in the person recieving the call being able to answer the phone. mobile phones work on a digital network, and can be monitored without causing feedback, unless the phone has been "bugged" which would require someone to add the part inside the phone, if your phone has never been repaired, you can tell if it has been opened quite easily..

Landline tapping can cause a fuzz or a hum on the line, "crossed wires" and other unusual results

accessing peoples phonebooks, messages or other info remotely has been possible on the occasional phone since about 1998.. i would fully assume that 99% of smartphones could be hackable.. but due to the ingoing/outgoing connections, the user would definitely have to manually execute the virus, so, assuming they havent stumbled across something that they installed from somewhere completely random,it would have ment whoever wanted the phones info had to have instlled the software...jailbroken iphones would be able to run this custom software, as with android or nokia, but i dont think you could force-install this without knowing exactly what you were doing..

on the theory of mentioning "bomb" and other things like that, who knows, and who cares? the government wont care if you are playing fruit machines, they will care if you are laundering £100000000000000000000 or planning to murder high profile people, but stopping you taking a few jackpots from your local pub is not going to be top of anyones "to do" list.

paranoia is a common side effect of lack of sleep, criminal activity, gambling, drug and alcohol misuse... take your pick...

You can get an app on the iPhone that tracks a phone number, and using a satelite-style map, zooms in on the location.

It's all a wind up though as it is only using your location, but you type in the number of the person you're with and their face shows an expression of horror when it shows exactly where they are (obviously it's your location).

I pulled this wind up on Dan King at Liverpool St Station once and his face was a picture!

That's what I was saying, the Government are interested in important things such as planning assassinations etc. There are 'key words' that they listen out for and if they hear these a few times then they may decide to take action. You might find that you are being singled out and selected to be searched all the time at airports for example. Or you might start to notice a black limo parked in your street.......
