No offence but people on here seem to be living well below their means considering you should have earned a bare minimum of £30K+ a year tax free for the last however long. Cheap cars/clothes/lifestyles,little savings so where does your money all go??

I'm no better a player than most but reading this thread I now feel like I'm living like a king compared to others.

Other than those with large and expensive familys most people on here seem to be either:-
A) beginners/not very good/lie bout what you make, or more likely
B) gambling ad's that have done most of their life fruit earnings on rou, or even
C) have very little ambition/dreams of a better life or any material wants.

Very few people in this world have the ability to make the money that players do,especially in this current economic climate, shame most players take their situation for granted and seem oblivious to the fact it may end one day.

Wake up people you should be hungry for this money and living much better standards of life. I'm in this game cos it pays much more than a normal job would. Most others seem to be in it just to dodge having a job.

my audi a4 2.4 v6 tiptronic does 25mpg when flooring it everywhere

just bought a nissan micra for my bird and brother to cruise about getting the kids to school and whatever, does about 50mpg and fits in the tightest gaps.

for some reason i prefer the zafira :/

I'd rather have money saved up than buying luxuries. Others prefer to have little savings but have their finances in things such as properties or a nice 20k car.

If it came to it, I could go out and easily buy a nice car but I decide not to. I have no reason to buy anything massivelly expensive right now. When your on the road doing hundreds of miles you don't need the risk of something going wrong/building up the miles or the worry of some old bint reversing into it in the back of some spoons car park. If my motor got dented it wouldn't be the end of the world, however if I forked out 20k on a nice motor, doing 500 miles a week travelling or it get dented I would be gutted to fuck.

If I lived on a small island and I was the only player and say the island was 10 by 10 miles wide, I would buy a mo-ped! Lol. Just because it's easier to get around and much more economically effective. Would be like a score a week petty. Lol.

That doesn't make me Tight or nothing, I'm just sensible with money. I spend more than enough on holidays, allsaints clothing and on the weekend shant... That's not including the abundance of brass flutes, strippers and drugs I USE to spunk my dough on...

I wish I could work out how much I've actually spent. I would be amazed like most people on here im sure.

apart from the weekend drugs bit ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, im with you toothless

mr dark horse .

i can see what you are saying ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but like toothless , a few of us could easily afford the new car ,,,,,,,,,,,, but we *CHOOSE* not to , ,,,,,,,,,,,,, for this game it simply makes no sense ,,,,,,,,,,,,, depreciation is shocking .,,,,,,,,, and like toothless says if somebody prangs us in a shitty pub car park with our shitty cars ,,,,,,, who cares?

it doesn't mean we dont have aspirations to better ourselves , . ,,,,,,,,,

your right about the earning potential ,,,,,,,,,, it is indeed out of the reach of the general masses ,,,,,,,,,,,, and the higher wage does allow for a few richer life experiences ,,,,,,,,, opportunities open for travel to foreign countries to experience other cultures etc ,,,,,,,

but even if you have no aspirations to do anything but bank the money and sit watchin jeremy kyle on your days off ,,,,,,,,,,,, doesn't make you a bad person .

each to their own

i spend little money on things i need ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but huge money on things i want

ps none of you have lived if you havent spent time in ,,,,,,shall we say ,,, questionable establishments in thailand :P

I spend my money on what I want, not into saving everything I earn..... decent car, decent brasses, out every weekend, 12 holidays a year!!! why save loads???? could get run over tomorrow!!! as long as I got a decent savings which would help if I need it, then I am happy!!

the more you save the tighter you get towards the end!! the lower the m.p.g the faster the car!!! MONEY TO BURN

You don't have to save everything you earn at all dean. However, if you spend every pennie you earn you'll have nothing to show for it. What happens if all the fruits disappeared tomo or got banned on a national scale? It's a matter of opinion I guess.

Don't get me wrong mate, I respect the ways you spend your money coz I can reflect on that. But you need to save for the future. In my eyes, it's extremely important to do that. I have no kids but when that time comes, I want to look back and think I had a brilliant youth but equally I want to know I have a nice bank for the more significant things.

On the holiday factor, I love going away. I went to auz for a while and I've seen 3 wonders of the world. I'd love to move away from England.

And maybe, if I had more of an interest in cars I would be pushed into buying a nice one. I'm happy with my shitty motor, I can go fast enough on motorways, it's good on fuel consumption and I couldn't give a fuck if I smashed the cunt up!

Mr Traphop I understand the value of driving economy and realise you drive bangers through choice. But I think cos I live in London my perceptions of what a nice car is are different from yours. I see Lambo's,Ferrari's etc. all the time so a nice car in my opinion would be buying something like that for 60K+. I drive a 535d,best car for service runs 300+bhp and I get 37mpg, but I see it like I'm living under my means and being economic cos I COULD buy the 60K Lambo as could you. Just my different perception coming from a materialistic place.

What I'm trying to say is majority of players have fucked it.

Say average joe player has been playing 10 years earning av.£40K a year. He has earned £400K. Yet he doesn't have 6 figures assets. A lot of clowns don't even have 5 figures.

Compare to average joe who worked in a legit job getting £40K a year paid into his bank after tax. He would often have 6 figures and definately much more than 5.

I read a book called "freakonomics". One chapter focused on a similair disparity between the lifestyles and earnings of drug dealers. It was called something like, "If drug dealers make so much money why do they all live at home with their Moms?". It showed how only a few at the top of the dealing pyramid earned majority of the money. The scraps were split between the majority of dealers below in the pyramid. Also it showed how many of the lower dealers had picked up bad habits which became financial holes for them.

I think there are obvious similaities in the fruit game to the drugs game. For most its a bad career choice. People who made half a mil and nothing to show cos they blew it on the wheel, drugs, alcohol, whores etc.

Roulette is the worst though. It's sad how many good players lives it's destroyed. Alcohol and brasses can also become a massive hole.

Not that i'm judging anyones lifestyles. I've pissed 6 figures in Grey Goose and £500 tables, smoke weed a lot,was with a dancer for years, fucked brasses till my knob rotted(literally),and been everywhere in the world except USA. Love Thailand got an ex-player mate who lives there now. Dam countless times love it.

Guess I'm lucky I did all that when I was a kid off money from doin Vivid's, Peck's, Extreme etc.
Been able to calm down last few years and let the drinking/brasses go. With the Bananas money over last couple years it been hard not accumulate fat savings. People who've been in this game a while should know it'd be better to claw your way out of it. To escape future uncertainty and gain a real position in society, something a lot of players don't have. IMO that should be first priority for any long term players. I.E. having your own business and propertys that will support you financially for life. Then you don't have bother with the silly, boring games anymore and can fuck off to Thailand to live like a king and drink and brass your way to a painful H.I.V related death or Dam for a painful smoking death on the money from your assets if you really wanted. Or just live a normal life here with your missus and kids.

Leaving this game successfully is the real challenge, like it is with dealing.
Seen very few people succeed in this.

That's a good point, I've struck a balance, lived an easy relaxed lifestyle with plenty of luxuries but also saved up a decent enough bank balance (mid 5 figures).

It's all a question of balance if you ask me, some people like to go all out on the short term and blow the lot, some like to work really hard and spend little and they will accumulate more.... obviously this balance may depend on ur situation in alot of cases ie. do u have a family etc. to support....

For me, I'm quite a lazy guy and this is about the only profession I can live well, accumulate a reasonable bank account, and not have to work my ass off!

I have heard of a long standing player from near London who never buys named clothes, mainly Market gear, and never treats himself yet is surprisingly generous and is worth an absolute mint. Not my idea of a good life though. What would be the point?
