And then dying on £2. Same with all places - players walk in - buy a coke or nothing, play machine, win jackpot no-one else in pub has ever seen, and fuck off with the proceeds. No wonder mr Local gets a bit miffed.......
I'm not implying all players are this bad - but players in general - and much more so after all the recent tooling get a bad press.

My worst violence episode was many years ago in a dingy arcade at the tender age of 12. The action bank i was playing had just opened the nudge pot...... and the local "pro" wasn't impressed.....

Had something happen to me & an old school mate years ago on a vivid. The hard local decided he'd bully us off it when it went red. My mate challenged him that if he (the local) could get the coin in the mech before he got knocked out then he could play it. The guy was lost and decided against it.
Shame. I'd have liked to have seen the outcome.

Clapham Junction is the scene of my only real problems - one about 3 weeks ago, the other around 11 years ago which I've mentioned on here before.

11 years ago (approx.) was when a guy started pressing various buttons for me on the Fruits-u-Sir on the platform 15/16 Upper Crust (long since demolished) and became very, very aggressive when I reminded him that it was my money and I would decide what to do with it. I collected and decided to wait outside and hope he jumped on a train - instead he followed me onto the platform and in the resulting war of words, threatened to push me onto the track. Putting longevity first, I didn't wait around.

3 weeks ago I was doing a certain machine in a certain pub with a very round bar not far from the aforementioned station - fight broke out behind me (nothing to do with me!) between some totally irrational (ie. proper cunt) Irish bloke and someone who had tried to take his bar stool. Actually had a MS in progress when one of them tumbled into me and left me on the floor. Irish bloke somehow thought I'd done something wrong and started on me when the landlord stepped in and slung them out.

Don't do fighting, meself.

haha ! I was in the round bar playing a certain fruit a few weeks ago, and got pestered by a drunk married woman whose husband was rather large ! She wasn't taking no for an answer, and told me she'd tell her fella' I touched her up if I didn't umm... touch her up !

i think one of the underlining problems is that we're no longer a secret sect. like we were years ago. stealthily sneaking under the radar.,,,,,,,,,

through the years as a pro player species we've multiplied tenfold , and subsequently landlord and local joe awareness is at an all time high as a result ,

with empties and tooling, playing there part , there are nay many pubs left that haven't been subjected to some kind of,,,,,,,,,,,, shall we say ,,,,,,, fruity related abuse.

and once the've been abused or even made aware that toolers exist ,,,,,,,,, then their forever on their gaurd , and from that point will always tar genuine players with the same brush.

also the jp rise to £70 hasn't done us any favours ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, £70 to an awful lot of locals is a substantial amount of money ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you may get away with it once , but twice ? ,,,,,, 3 times ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, there's an old saying '' jealously breeds contempt''

on a side note , ive been careful for the most part ,,,,,,,,, choosing my times , and taking the coward option of refusing to even venture into known shithole establishments . im not a fighter and dont relish the thought of a kicking over trying to earn a few quid,

to look at me , you could say at 6ft1 and 15 stone i look an imposing force , but the truth of it is , im a pussy , lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i will fight of course , if i have to get out of a sticky situation , but only if all other avenues have been exausted.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ide sooner sit down and not even play the bandit if there seems an air of tension in the air. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, would feel far more confidant with scott with me , or tracys muscle mountain of a brother by my side lol.

no real incidents to speak of ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, however like others on this site , i have been lightly advised/threatened to move on out of town by the birmingham lot.

to finish off , ide like to add that martin and myself spent 50 on fuel yesterday , had a decent expensive steak meal , and still ended up with 192 each yesterday .

with those levels of money involved , ,,,,,,,,,,,,, what can you do ?

occupational hazard end of.

lee.

An interesting point there...you say you've been threatened by the birmingham lot. I'd never ever not go to an area because of threats from another player, I'd happily fight them for it until one of us is in an extremely bad way because I'm not letting anyone dictate where I play and jeopardise my family's financial welfare.

The odd idiot in a pub is a bit different I think.

A thorny topic indeed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

at our age , is it worth it ratty my friend ?

you say you would physically fight em m8 ,,,,,,,,,, and fair play for sticking up for yourself , but where does it end ?

the type of people were talking about are the lowest of the low ,,,,,,,,,,,, have no morals and would stick you with a screwdriver and ask questions afterwards ,,,,,,,,,,, their ex toolers and would have no qualms about cutting your face off. seriously

ady and myself were asked politely to never come back ,,,,,,,,,,,, so although not right ,,,,, it could have been a lot worse .

jg was threatened by them in kennelworth ,,,,,,,,,, which is only 5 miles from his front door ffs

scott was threatened from a phonecall by em .

now i have a lot of time and respect for scott ,,,,,,,and he takes a no shit from anyone attitude ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he wanted ady to pass on his wolverhampton run ,,,,,,,,,, and scott was gonna go take over it with a cpl of leicester animals he knows ,,,,,,,,,,,, and sort em out

trouble is ,,,,,,,,,,, it wouldn't end there ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they would come to leicester looking for us with knives etc . ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i know people like silent g ,,,,,,, and people like tracys brother who wouldn't take shit from nobody either ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but thats ok till a gang of em get you on your own.

all over fruits ,,,,,, no thanks ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, call me a coward ,,,,,,,,,, but i'de rather leave it.

guts will get you so far , then they'll get you killed .

It is a tough one, your dead right, i aint the worlds toughest but i'd fight my corner till the end, i did hear from a friend of a friend that i was'nt welcome back over Brum, but they were nice as pie to my face, i did still continue to go back for a wee while after these so called threats were made, i was only over there because my own area lacked decent hits, once it picked up again i never went back, if my run ever dried up again i would'nt hesitate to go back to Brum, fuck 'em!
