Well, just got back from a week at Blackpool and the Lakes with the family and had a bloody good time. (We stayed at Marton Mere) Wasn't terribly much machine play; mainly £5 classics - all of which pretty much done me over. lol
Did find a nice £70 CoB in a little arcady place in Windermere which paid nicely for our boat trip.
Blackpool wasn't anything to write home about - in both state of the town and machine availability! Loved the Lake district though, a beautiful part of the country without question!
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
I went to the lakes around two years ago, there was still a vamp, x-rated and supernova amongst the few pubs that I checked! Like some sort of timewarp!!
Does anyone really bother with £5 jackpot machines? They must've had over 100 at the holiday park, from Temple of Treasure to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The most profitable one for me was the DOND 4-reeler. lol
There was also a lep with a £300+ bronze pot, but I steered clear of that one!

[quote="Matt Vinyl"]Yeah, didn't go Southport way. ]
Last year we went on Holiday with friends to a Haven site in Wales. Every night we made between £60 and £100 in the £5 arcade...Depends if you after big profits - ar a boit of a play in my opinion. Better to lose £10 on a £5 JP than £100+ on some junk £70 machine in the pub.
Same Haven site had a £25 wobbler! Which i had great joy in playing every day!
Found a nice quiet arcade a while back, had a Duff Beer guide. 12 add again 12 to 16 nudges JP. Some chavs asked for a take but shut up after the roll out the barrel cherry hold
Heh, we were at a Haven site too. You do get a lot of play for your pound on the £5ers, just a lot of 'newer' machines are not really suited too it - you spend £3 / £4 getting a board and it's either JP or nothing. Well, it was in my case, heheh...
