The later stage questions during the early years of UK Millionaire were easier than they are now. Even so it was over two years before anyone won top the prize and I think by that stage the makers were desperate for someone to win it. The first big win also rather conveniently occurred when it was up against the last episode of One Foot in the Grave on BBC 1.
Now the audience figures are low and the revenue from entries is a fraction of what it was they are probably not going to give away any further millions in a hurry.
