It made my wallet have a bit bulge. I wasn't expecting getting it, was a nice surprise really.pound wrote:I love a blue note for some strange reason.titchno1 wrote:I ended up getting the money in £5 notes. Didn't bother me like!

What I dont understand about the Tec is...One pub has 3 machines, noteys always off, machines like to alarm all the damn time, coin mechs are dodgy, screens on quizzers are fooked...
Next pub, Noteys always on, good condition machines can have a throughly enjoyable game and quiz yourself on the itboxes etc...
But both pubs are gamestec machines! So how come one pub is so much more decrepit?

there are different contracts,
weekly/fortnightly visits,
staffs understanding of callouts varies
different levels of contract have noteys/newer machines/older machines
it costs £5 extra a week to have a notey, so a really shitty pub might have a £35 jp, with no notey (even if theres one fitted it might be off) just to save money..
obviously you';re going to tell me that this pub in question has £70's... but again, gamestec might have delivered them a £70 because there wasnt a £35 available..
another point is daily refills or regular refills, some pubs do this religiously now, whereas other pubs who dont understand the benefit of it leave the machine to go cash low and notey off... without understanding or caring..
tie this in with a twice a month visit from an underpaid collector, and they empty, count, refloat and leave without checking everything is in order, assuming that the pub do their part and make it worse by forgetting to press the "machine refloated" button...
these days the buttons and lights and functioning parts of the machine are only checked upon dispatch fom their base, meaning if a machine is shifted from one pub to another a few miles away without going "home" it wont be fully checked, lights stay out f or months and months because the staff in the pubs arent ringing for a callout etc..
you have to remember, that to you/us/players, these machines are ranked high on a list of "important things in the universe" whereas to some staff, and to most people they dont mean anything and who cares if the buttons/lights/notey are broke, NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PLAY THEM ANYWAY, especially in a resession..
