OTish: Skilljam

Any opinions on this? I joined last week.

There's Boggle- and WordUp-type games, you pay 60p or a quid or whatever for a 2-player game and if you win you get slightly less than double as a prize. (i.e. they take commission)

If you win they just keep promoting you through the levels. e.g. win at Beginner you get promoted to Novice, Novice to Intermediate, Intermediate to Superjam or something (dunno, not there yet). You can only play other players at the same level.

This means that eventually you find your level. Everyone reaches a point where they win half their games and lose half their games, and gradually loses their bank in commission.

It kinda sucks, I guess it means that unless you are one of the very, very best players (who are probably using scripts/bots anyway) you can't make any money from the thing. :x

If you're going to make any money at these, the best way is to join up and get a sign up bonus, find your favourite game and play and win until you reach your level. Once you get to advanced level, quit, take your money and sign up to another site.

It's long and laborious, and they'll probably spot you in the end because most of them are like the poker sites, it might say Virgin Poker or Tescos Poker or whatever, but it's usually just the same software with a different front.

I signed up after playing 'pool jam' on this site, i deposited $10 and was given novice level, i went on to play for a couple of hours in a few tournaments which all finished the following day, i checked back and my account was upto $60

I played down to around $30 and checked back the day after to find i'd won nothing because they'd advanced my level to intermediate :x and things are really hard to win, i think i'll just take my $30 and try signing up again in a different name???

Let us know how long it takes them to send your cheque.
Because when I played the itbox clone my winnings never arrived.
Thanks.

Cheers Stormlord. I'm still waiting after about a year which is pretty bad. Glad you got your money.
