The nature of the trick made it extremely vunerable and it certainly had a limited shelf life. If you analyse a trick and look how complex it is, that will give you a good indicator of how to go about your business. PD's was a trick that cost virtually nothing to master, so was therefore worked out by numerous people. Added to this, it was a 'playable game' so further more, it has a great deal of exposure to players. The final nail in the coffin is they were in a large percentage of weatherspoons. Most players struggle to be discreet and are largley concentrating on the machine, rather on things that are going on around them.
