Here's the machines I got through (generally in chronological order!)
-Atari 800xl
-Commodore 64
-Atari Lynx
-Sega Megadrive
-Amiga 500+
-Amiga 1200
-Sega Saturn
-Playstation
-Xbox
-Playstation 3
I think that's it (not counting a PC, of course). Funnily, the first 4 of those were probably my favourite.

@ lugsy thats a blast from the past, i didnt own one but my cousin did, they always seemed to have the best toys didnt they?? lol but i dont think it was round for long mind.
my fave games from the past arcades were...
hyper sports/track n field (with a half of plastic egg) to make it go fast
wonderboy
N.A.R.C
ghost n goblins
space harrier
1942
sky kid
double dragon
kung fu master
bubble bobble
out of home consoles
just about had them all at sum point, but the sega game gear was epic,
also had about 15 NES 8 bits, still got 1, if i see them on a car boot or whatever i just have to buy it. lol
i kinda owe it to mario, lol. i usually put a new cartridge connector in, thats the only thing that went wrong with em.
ACORN lol
atari 520
atari 2600
atari lynx
sega game gear
c64
gameboy all of em.
nes
snes
n64
mega drive
mega cd
saturn
speccy 64/128
vic 20
and those old handheld early nintendo games, with donkey kong and had 1 that had popeye on was a green colour, stirred some good memorys up this, think im goin to get the nes out now. lol

the 3do was conceived by trip hawkins (now head of electronic arts software i think)
he was trying to make (like the pc i suppose ) a universal console with a set of basic specs that any hardware company , ie panasonic etc could build and have a chunk of the pie .
it failed miserably of course ,,,,,,,,,, the time just wasn't right ,,,,,and it was stupidly priced,,, and sega and nintendo had a massive installed user base with far cheaper hardware , software etc
things are much the same now , with nintendo , microsoft and sony looking impossible to topple .
but apparently this is all set to change
(the following i have read in a magazine )
heard of ''ON LIVE" ??
no ? ,,,,,,,,,,,, well if marketed right ,,,,,,, this new boy aims to give you a console about the size of a pack of cards ,,,,,,, no disc drive , no hard drive ,,,,,,,, and no physical game to take home from the shop,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and nothing downloads to your console ,,,,,,, it will be completely server based , (with sony and nintendo etc being forced out of the hardware market and eventually having to just be software providers for the '' universal console ''),,,,,,,,,,,,,, the problem with this of course is the upload speed from when you press fire on your controller to the reaction on screen ,,,,, right now most internet providers only offer the uk relatively slow broadband speeds ,,,,,,, and we pay a premium for 10-20 meg speeds ,,,,,,,,,,, but over in korea 150 meg super fibre optic is considered slow ,,,,,,, and so as usual the uk has got to wait for the technology to catch up.
right back to my thoughts .
the problem with an internet only based system here in the uk ,,,,,,,,, is we love our second hand bargain market ,,,,,,,,,,,,, we trade in old against new ,,,,,,,,,,,, we pay 40quid for a game , play it , take it round ya mates ,,,,,, and finally trade it for a tenner towards something else
in order for ''on live'' to work
the games would have to be significantly cheaper .
sony's psp go ( worlds first download only console ) isn't selling in the uk , because the games are no cheaper to download than the retail version for the older psp
like i said though ,,,,,,, if marketed right '' on live'' could be huge
and finally to finish off a quote from the magazine
''whatever happens , it would be inconceiveable to think that within the next ten years we will still be going to a store to buy games ''
makes you think , ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thoughts lads.

well i reckon the new "console" ahem that he has coming up will be massive, and as for the reaction speeds and playability will be infact better.
yes our broadband is shit, in reality. but whats on the horizon for that??? well dont all laugh and pull my next part of my post to bits, until you have at least researched it. the internet as we know is being phased out, yes thats right, its going. and being replaced with whats called "THE GRID" a swedish firm has been at this for quite a while now. and were talking instant everything. its going to totally revolutionise everything we do with any of our computers and mobiles..
PLEASE check the link out from the sunday times dated 6/4/2008!!
it makes for amazing reading

cannon m8 ,,,,,,,,,,,,, make sure your router is 'n' capable ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, around 80-100 quid from pc world
but before you do that , if your xbox has an ethernet socket ,,,,,,, try connecting it directly to the modem to see if your connection drops still (i know this wont be practical , because the rest of your family will want to use it with their computers through wireless etc ,,,,,, but just test it for an hour or so) then if it still loses connection , its either your modem or your service provider. ,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,, finally jack if all else fails then take that piece of shit xbox back to the trailer trash junk yard , and buy yourself a ps3 ya tight cunt :P

Cant u check the connection, from the router to console?, ps3 here, and when checked it's on 100% nearly all the time, using a d-link router, when I say connection, I mean signal ur xbox is receiving from router..thecannonball89 wrote:I get disconected from xbox live evry 10mins my internet stays on but xbox disconects, i am now using a wired conection and it still happens. it will disconect 2-3 times before i can find a game online, (blackops) then will randomy disconect at anytime. does anyone know whats causing this to happen? i think its my routor (dlink) becouse this never ustd to hapen before when we had a netgear one, any help wud be be great,
If ur problem is only happening playing black ops, read loads about issues with this, happening to everyone?
edit..just re-read, and see u have a wired connection..from what uve said tho, sounds like an xbox network problem. Check xbox forums to confirm??
