Origin of the 'GATW' phrase?

In reply to McStreak, are you sure about Who Dares Wins? I remember it going red and spinning round the corners, don't recall it saying GATW though?? Thought it was slightly more subtle than that.

Yes you're right, my mistake. Fucking piss poor game too.... Red hot ibiza was great when it went on a spree.. ohhhh babyyyyy....

Most bell friut games played like shit from that era but the sfx were very impressive.

Red Hot Ibiza................... What a game! I vaguely remember some kind of dance anthem at the start of the feature or possibly after getting a pot. Used to go mental dancing around the arcarde at the age of 15!!!

Anyone remember the specifics with the tune?

Was that the similar layout feature to Sonic the hedgehog ?

Was it the 2nd mystery that could give roll up for an 11 that went to add again, then that would go to add again, then that was either JP or Skill 2 from JP ??

Not sure what that's suppose to mean mate ?

If your saying what I'm describing is Rollercoaster then no It's not. Rollercoaster is 1 of the most popular machines ever made so it's not the sort of machine I could get mixed up with. Besides Rollercoaster doesn't turn red.

Edit : found it

On most machines now the GATW is so obvious that it takes any element of knowledge out of it eg the DONDs which even if you ignored the alpha, just fill up the mega streak within two spins.

I remember one of the more subtle ones (circa 199 8) being a robin hood themed one where the bullseye at the middle of the trail would change from gold to red.

Was quite subtle and back in the day people were always amazed that you knew it was going to be a JP board

I bet most players fell for the false hope on Horn Of Plenty as it continuously flashed the name on every feature.

It was like Blingking and I watched a friend get a board, and seeing it flashing said 'that's a guaranteed jackpot!' higher than a 3 to a 2. I know it was cruel but I was doubled up by his expression when it lost.

What about the flashing logo on Club Psycho Cash Beast, that must have been a few years ago now.

Quid Vicious was quite subtle, just changed to Red symbol, obviously once you know what yu're looking for but seen plenty of people pass up jackpot on that. One of the older GATW's I remember was on a cops 'n' robbers where a little plane would go along the lcd and then say go all the way, something like that anyway.

Wasn't that a "Take Off" feature quite early on the board which was £6 jackpot. Maybe my memory playing tricks with me.
