ive always said , we live off the misery of others , and truly feel sorry for some hopeless addicts ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but , nobody puts a gun to their head and makes em play ,,,,,,, so any guilt trip has to stop there ,,,,,,,,,,,, in reality we need people to lose ,

I loved the part where the older boy was playing his own TOT on 25quid, he explained the LES then told us that he would've won 75 quid from the yellow bars out in the wild. Some pretty troubled people on that program.

GamCare reckons there are 60,000 12-15 year olds with a gambling problem, that's before you start counting the adults.

How many people in the UK earn a living being a pro player ? 1000 ? 10000 ? More ? Less ? Anyone like to have an estimate ?

.
Roulette free since December 2011.

its my opinion only of course , but i think you can only call yourself a pro player if you live entirely off the fruit proceeds , no state benefits whatsoever , and have sustained that lifestyle for over 2-3 years minimum

so based on that harry , i would personally bring that figure down to less than 80 pro's

It's not hard to see why there's a gambling issue with kids, just go down to any seaside and you'll realise.

I'd estimate about half the kids that grow up playing fruit machines make the full transition to player/addict.

Agreed lee, when you take the benefit takers out of the equation it certainly would cut out a fair few players.

I'd say more like 200-300 though would be my estimate.

Was total gobsmacked when you reconed 80 there Lee!

But... since you stipulated no state benefits I recon it'll bring the figure down from at least 1200-1500 wannabies/potential could live without the dole/waste what they make so need the dole down to around 150-200 proper full time self sufficent pros.

Watched that show with my wife and cursed the fact that so many people just like those guys can be and are involved in the game nowadays. Addicts with no respect for the value of what their given.

Its was made in 2004 BTW with a 2008 update message at the end regarding gambling legislation. The big hint was when arcade legend Dean dispaired because his little brother "will soon be old enough to start playing the £25 jackpots".

Was also sickened by the other wee guy who dumped the £5 lord of the rings saying "when I'm older I wont want to play machines because it'll be a waste of the money I make when I have a job" (paraphrased). Yet the little scab is happy to beg his strugging mum for every penny she's got so he can waste her much needed cash! :x

"proper" pro players are friendly too. They don't need to resort to threats/back stabbing. Now where did I put my dole book you dipshits.
