I was bored at work searching Ebay to find the going rate for fruit machines and see what classics were available, that in turn brought Fruit-emu to my attention. After a few hours scanning the site and seeing how asking for cheats was frowned upon I got the idea to google for cheats, tips. It brought up ukgamblingforums,gambling.co.uk/forums & here.
If I remember correctly PMK was the 1st player I managed to do business with :P
And I thought Jeff Vickers was the top dog

I used Google to search out related forums to fruit machines. Most of them are geared towards machines that where before my time (MPU4). I'm strictly an MPU5/scorp4 kid, and this forum catered for it. Things that I like to discuss is comparison of gaming styles, how effective machine themeing is, which feature(s) to play on such-and-such game, how good/bad a machine is, and general tips but I'm not seeking cheats/rips.

Before we had internet at home I'd always have a gander on the web whenever we house sitted for the in laws and I ended up stumbling upon this site.
Thing is though, I always used to forget what it was called as there were monthly gaps between visits lol!!!
First thing I did when we got t'internet in '07 was to join up.

I used to post on gambling.co.uk in 04/05, noticed fruitchat back then in its old layout but didn't like it. Once i saw the new layout i registered on day 1, and it's been a long few years since!
Joined mainly to discuss fruits with like minded people, as no-one else i knew had any idea about them. I didn't know a great deal back then all those years ago, s of course it has helped in other regards too, plus i've got to meet some top people along the way. One of my top 5 visited sites on the net!

Arcadia may well have been full of immature twats, but at the time was the biggest site on the web as Stu says, about 1998. You could get a few decent contacts on there, and there was always the "members section" (not a lot of use really). There was only a few other sites around Admin had his mikewoods.karoo site, there was UKFMP and the CMA and a couple of others. At least info lasted a while then , not that I got or asked for much (about the time of the "Vivid Pro") and driftnet (Daz Watts) was always trying to flog some gadget. There was also the http://www.amusement-arcade.co.uk board run by a guy called Kinger who got a bit of abuse IIRC, which I think has gone as well.
Our wordsmith friend JG was a great contributer, with a lot of others who lurk around here now, also, maybe under various pseudonyms.

I've been on a few websites in my time, although they've been more useful
for contacts as opposed to going out and getting tricks etc...
Gee hardys members zone (think it was tfmz) was good at a point and had a lot of astute brains in it, including Ob and several others from here which was how I got to know him a good 10-11 years ago.
Someone mentioned kingers site. As this was purely for arcade owners, it was interesting when several of us got the original golden game emptier very early. Arcade owners started posting on the forum trying to find out who we were and what we knew, even going as far as posting descriptions of us. They actually dressed us up to be covering a hell of a lot more ground than we did, but it was pretty funny at the time!
