Best Beer/Lager

kronenbourg is very tasty it has to be said.

did anyone try DUVAL when spoons had it for thier beer festival last summer.

comes in a fat stubby and is a sort of 50/50 lager ale thing...8.5% too

a nice drop but only a couple of bottles..its a half litre one.

Stella... King of lagers
Wobbly Bob is a great bitter, though not a session beer at 6.5%.
Then finish the night off with some nice Cognac or Whisky unless I've gone for a curry. In which case there's no choice really, bring on the Bombay Export.

Oh yes mjd, that's good biking country.

You can pretty much guarantee a few bikers will die on those roads every month - they are good but very busy and with some nasty turns.

As for the lagers... Kronenburg on a night out, Fosters if it's a long one as it's a good session beer, and Cobra or Tiger with a curry.

It's making the most of a bad lot really - I'm a real ale man. Everyone needs to get down to Sainsbury's and buy the bottled Black Sheep, and Black Sheep Riggwelter - proper pints! They should really be hand pulled and in a jar for the best experience. That's proper drinking!

bud is in a leauge of its own when it comes to lagers, you can pick bottles up for like less than 50p in asda and tesco. when you are out on the town bud on tap and then onto vodka redbull!!

Yup, but it tastes crap. I'd rather drink a pint of someone elses sweat than drink a pint of Bud...

Usually go for Carling or Kronenbourg for an "everyday" drink.

Has anyone tried a bottled lager called Superbock? had a bite to eat at a Portugese restaurant in Bull Ring, Brum - tried this stuff and its good, fairly strong also @ 5.6%.

Another one i used to enjoy but havnt seen for ages is Elephant beer by Carlsberg. At 7% it wasnt far off the strength of special brew but much more drinkable ( S.B needed to be very cold to be palatable to me, otherwise it was like drinking alcaholic soup )

EDIT: I was drinking lager on Saturday, but only to fit in with the hoi-polloi.

love my brandy but im affraid i've become a bit of a brandy/cognac snob. cant stand teh cheap stuff, like Remy Martin Grand Cru and Henessy XO if im feeling rich but usually go for Henessy.

3 barrells and the like is the devils bile

also theres nothing better when your feeling a bit down or ill than a large slug of cognac with a drop of hot water and a spoon of sugar.

Stella/Kronenburg ofc none of you has mentioned Leffe blond(not really a fan of the brown or brun tbh).Ofc depends on finances

Castle lager from ASDA comes in a 750ml? bottle is rather nice too.

been thro several phases:-

strongbow/scrumpy when i was a teen
diamond white (Limelight club only, cost effective if disgusting

)

then to cocktails:-

blue hawaian (pina colada with blue curacao, god i used to love them

)
killer zombie (lots of units)
attitude adjuster (ditto)

wine :-
if out, wetherspoons house white was dirt cheap, couple of bottles of this as last round pretty much guaranteed a night waking up in a random location in south london after nodding off on the last train

home, chenin blanc used to be my fave, lovely & fruity

spirits :-
liked malibu for a while, then got sick of it now just the smell gets me heaving

homeless heaven :-
tennants super: ugh! strictly last option only from local kebabie tastes like lager boiled down to syrup

post 24 hr licensing:-
strongbow super: cheap, effective & drinkable (my local 24hr spar are well trained now & i only have to show them a few fingers & they've already got it ready for me - wonder if i'm drinking too much?
