And now they have deleted their comment - great way to run a company "insult your customers" - GENIUS !

Have Games Warehouse gone?
Maybe I need to change my aftershave...Northern Monkey wrote:I should go round with you Nil- every special trip Ive made in the last ten days I have been greeted by another punter just pulling up a stool to settle in in front of the machine. :x

(more seriously - I suspect that this has a lot to do with location; as I understand it you play mainly in Central London/The City, where there are more likely to be people with a few bob and time to spare; I on the other hand have been on something like the Bill Hicks Flying Saucer Tour of the more provincial locations, and the lack of play on all but the Paragons is really quite striking there).
I visited an ex-Scream pub which for years had the usual: juke box, 2 if not 3 quiz machines, even a pinball machine. Now? It's been taken over and it has nothing, not even a fruitie - just tables and a poncy menu.QuizMaster wrote:Haven't seen much new about lately, although haven't particualrly noticed machines disappearing, apart from when pubs disappear.
Mitchell & Butler sold 350 of their pubs this week, moslty drink-led places like ONeills, Scream, Goose etc. In a few months, those of you who rely on these things for an income will be looking back at the last year or two and considering it a golden period.
Just found this page on the Mitchells and Butlers website, I guess this is the deal that Danzo is referring to:

Seems they are adopting a new 'informal eating out' strategy... does this mean restaurants? It doesn't exactly make it clear. It is stated that they are moving away from the drinks-led late night venues.
I don't know enough about the industry on a national scale to say whether or not this will significantly impact on the level of SWP's in operation...?
I can't say that this is enough for me to agree that the future doesn't look bright for quiz machines - whilst it isn't ideal, I still see a lot of machines in the places I visit.
