Im new here so not sure if this is in the right place but anyway, I've been interested in fruit machines for some years but unfortunately unable to buy one due to lack of space. Finally my day has come and I've gained myself a 2 bedroom flat, enough space for a fruit machine. Unfortunately, impossible for one to go up 3 flights of stairs and a tight staircase (no lift) I've been running my brains to think of an idea. Anyone know if its possible to dismantle a fruit machine? I'm talking modern machines (Ooh Ahh Dracula, Simpsons etc). Im good with electrics and mechanics so that wouldnt be an issue, though i dont believe that you would have to break down the mechanical parts that much. Does anyone know how the manufacturer join the wood panels together? and things like the glass front, how is that put together?? anyone know of problems I could encounter doing this??
I have a small garage to put it in for a month or two so I can do it. Im also thinking of using some sort of "locking in device" for the wood panels so it wouldn't be such a problem putting it all back together.
It's a bit of a strange one but something i seriously want to accomplish soon and any ideas before I do it would be fantastic.
Thanks for reading!!
Dismantling a fruit machine
Its an old victorian flat based in a town so the staircase is so small we couldnt even get our 2 seater sofa up there. I did think about the window but theres no way itl fit through the window unless we take it out completely which is something i can't afford to get done. I'd be obtaining a £50 fruit machine, don't want it costing me £500 by the time ive removed stuff to make it fit....Bit of a bummer :-(
the full front glass and plastics all come off quite easily
they are just attached by 4 bolts through the hidges at the top of the cabinet and the pistones to keep the door open just un-screw. you will however need to ensure all looms are unpluged from the MPU and wires are free from the cabinet
(not cable tied to anywhere or wrap around anything)
i would also recomend removing the:
Reels (whole reel should just unscrew)
Y-Shoot (above coin Mech) ((unclips))
Coin Mech (lifts out)
Hopper (slides out)
PSU (in the bottom next to cash boxes)
and now that you've trimmed the fat, and made the whole thing a hell of alot lighter it might be easier to maneuver up the staircase, if not you will have to take apart the whole cabinet it's self, in which i have no experience.
but good luck!
