where do i get the alarm code mess, you can hear a faint alarm and there is a flashing red light beside a keyslot at waist height. but other than that there is no sign of power, ive checked inside and there is 4 green led lights lit on the motherboard. is there any online check list i could use to troubleshoot this

any suggestions welcome

epoch?

the red flashing light is a false alarm thingy i believe

there should be a board with wires on it saying alpha x 1, alpha x2,upper lamp, lower lamps

is there a green LED pulsing on it?

LOL

4th in a week

that board has most likely failed

just to check on the mpu all green lights are lit except the security?(that will flash) & the PSU, all lights are lit also?

my jackpots that rock n roll and that problem, changed the board & voila working again :)

boards cost about £20 but best off buying a full set off boards off eggy777 on ebay, well worth the £40 & its the later stuff so more reliable

please excuse my ignorance mate but i dont know which boards are which.
the board with the security led has 4 constant led lights
+12v
-12v
+vlogic
security
these 4 are constant
+vsisp
reset
these 2 are not lit.
there are two smaller boards with 1 led each, both lit
and finally the board with the unlit one we have talked about.

if you can also point me towards a web site which explains the boards and stuff of these machines, i can hopefully stop sounding like a twat lol

thanks

Stepping stones is quite a relic isn't it? More like Nifty Fifty era iirc, so waaaaay before EPOCH, not sure what tech this would be on.....?

the main board is an epoch board, the previous owner said he had recently replaced it. i think ill just order another bulb board as this seems to be the problem,

op states m/c alarms and wont boot if lamp board faulty should still boot and even take money and play.usually when board fails coin entry and reel bulbs still light,

looking at ebay prices the ldb going for approx £15
if op intends to keep m/c better of going for the kit at £30 imo as we all know how shit epoch tech is :)

BTW that pic is off the an OLD lamp driver board - the one's that were prone to catch fire,
I'd replace it anyway to be on the safe side
As PSX stated eggy777 on ebay does the whole kit for £20~£30 quid depending on his mood it would seem !! and the LDB are the newer ones if you check his listings
(have had lots of him before and never had a problem)
