This might sound horribly simplistic to most of us but I think the point that needs to be reiterated here is the difference between gambling your stake and your winnings. Your game ends when you exit the feature, with either zero or a win of some description. The gamble in that game was on your stake, be it 25p/50p or £1.

The feature ends and you then enter a kind of sub-game, where you have the option to gamble the winnings. So say you won £10 in the feature, you are now gambling your winnings - not your stake. This is precisely how games like Cash Ahoy were able to get away with that 'superbet' bollocks where you can suddenly gamble at £4-a-spin on the same game, because you're playing with your winnings, not your stake.

Imagine winning the Gold Pot on RR, say it was at £435-ish. You gamble it and lose. That £435 doesn't go back into the gold pot - it's a gonner - because the feature did pay the prize ... you just chose to gamble with it.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

I've played a paragon on £70. It was Thunderbolt. It's in my local pub nr Telford. Is it the same machine, or is it an infiniti? I didn't know any infinits were stil out there

The thunderbolt had about 10 games on it but didnt have a Cops'N'Robbers, so I dunno.

If I play a machine and lose £50 I'd expect the % to be effected by it,
Then I'm afraid you are a thick cunt. If you want to bet 10 quid on a 100% return 50/50 gamble you wouldn't do it over a roulette table, as the average return would only be 98.65%, assuming it's a European wheel and they give you half your bet back if the ball lands on zero.

As far as the Paragon games go, you're missing a bigger picture. Why take classic games like Roller Coaster and Caesar's Palace and ruin the profiles by linking the gamble result into the compensation? The games were a success back in the day largely due to the stats - so why bend all of this out of shape? The gamble is separate because from a design point of view you want the player to experience a similar game to what they may have had a decade ago when the original machines were about. Tie the gamble in and you may as well not bother spending time refining a good game profile because the player can have whatever balance they like from how they choose to gamble any winnings.

Also you want players to commit VTP through the game and not simply brute-force it out and then leave. If the player wants to go for it on the gamble it makes sense to make them play the front game at an inferior percentage return in order to get to something that is perceived to be totally fair.

I've checked them but there's not a definitive yes or no answer there.
