The thing is, most arcades will fail because they fail to cater to what people want. They think that all they need to do is stuff it full of granny machines and 500s and voila, watch the money coming in. What would be better is to have a diverse selection so mr addict who stuffs the 500s, jean who loves her bar xs and the younger generation who prefer feature machines would be better. Ditch some of the granny stuff, stick in some 70s with appeal to general punters such as poker face and a deal or no deal and see how that affects things. Whatever you do, try to have a few different areas with variety. Not the same old junk. Oh and does anyone spot the irony of saying he would bar professional players when he is on a forum mainly populated by professional players asking for advice! Good luck, but i think youll need it to succeed.

									Bored of the grind.
unless theres a emptier or a mahoosive rip for a machine it will allways profit.
so get machines that people (even pro's) will play.
if you had a load of old reds im sure you will have pro's in there daily,
get some £5 jackpots and you will have under 18's in there daily,
get a few rainbows and bullion bars and whats ever and you will have grannys in there daily.
get what everyone want's not what 1 or 2 people want.

Thanks for advice
Thanks to all who have replied to this post. I now have some "Food for thought". By the way the Arcade is for over 18s only thanks to Gambling Commission rules.

Jonny, looking at your location thanks to google provided by Mr dunhamzzzzzzzzzz, your location is on a derelict street, with 5 buisness in the area/street, and your arcade has a front like tyrone/jack duckworths house in coronation street. Please don't take offense but if i was walking down the street I wouldn't come in. bareing in mind looks like I would need to be on my guard going down that street aswell.

How much profit will you make?!?!?!

Johnny amusements used to be HUGE in Edinburgh, Fife ect in the 80's and early 90's.There was 4 or 5 in Kirkdy at one point. All have now shut down. The last one closed a few years ago.
I appreciate what the poster is trying to do, nothing wrong with that, but my advise to whoever it is would be to turn it into or lease it out as a cafe/shop.
Johhnys R.I.P am afriad.

I spent a lot of my youth in various branches of Johnny's in Edinburgh & Fife. This is the very last Johnny's left. I will do everything I can to prevent it from closing. Thanks for the advice re. cafe, but no. sorry. Johnny's WILL remain an arcade for as long as I can possibly maintain it. Thanks to all who have shown their support. I paid a visit to this place yesterday, mainly as a result of seeing keykeythe1's YouTube video (and I happened to be in the area).
I initially walked straight past the place by accident as the front signage seems to be missing. Inside, it's a nice selection of machines - the wall mirrors make it look massively bigger than it really is - but still plenty of classics around. Bit of a shame that there're S16s in there (but I suppose those takings alone can pay the rent) but was enjoyable playing Crystal Maze, Andy Capp and the old classics.
Keep up the hard work, Johnny.

This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy
