Right I had an IOU of them which they send me the " checked the meters no discrepancy rubbish" back, and it was for a measly £12....

Anyhow decided to send them an email... which I'll put on here (X's are just for this post!)

I have recently (Mr X XXX Road, XXXXXX) put in a claim for £12 that was owed on your £70 jackpot "Can you dig it machine" in XXX train station, I have since received a letter saying that you have checked meter readings arnd there is no discrepancy, and service records show no fault.

Having been in the amusement industry for many years I fail to understand how something as simple as a machines hoppers going empty and owing £12, causes your engineers such difficulty and why meter readings are even necessary. The data was clearly shown the LCD screen at the time of the fault. The staff at the aforementioned site would be happy to back this claim up.

I can only surmise that the engineer in question has refilled the machine and took the £12 for his personal gain; which is rather petty for the sake of such a small sum of money.

Also might I suggest float levels of £100 or less are not sensible on £70 jackpot machines, and will commonly lead to machines going empty.

I hope I don't receive similar such reponses from your company in the future, as I have not had this problem with other distributors.

Regards,

XXX

Wonder what they will reply, if they do at all, which I'm highly doubtful off!!!

(oh and yes I am ratted at 3:30 on xmas eve writing this stuff LOLOLL)

They might reply, don't set your spirits too high though. They'll probably be annoyed that you implyed their engineer took the £12, lol

i don't know why train stations always make you chase your claims, they give you a business card at mine lol
spectre in pubs seem fine, i reckon you will get it though it usually takes a re-chase, last one i had (that i had to rechase) i phoned up, the woman said "ooh yeah i've got your cheque sitting on my desk in front of me"
...likely story, after waiting a month!.. if i hadn't phoned i bet that would've gone towards the christmas funds :o

Yeah that's a very well written email, I doubt you'll get a reply or your money unfortunately tho...

In my experience, Sceptre make even Games Tec look professional. They owe me £70 still from an Al Murray which alarmed after the first jackpot = me losing £20 to get it :(

I did exactly the same thing happen to me. Darlington train station, note acceptor swallowed a £20 note. Made a claim and received a letter saying no discrepancy etc.

I sent an email to Ken Turner (CEO) and Brian Nicholls (COO) telling them of my disgust. Got a phone call from Ken telling me he had authorised my claim, doubled it to £40 (cheque in post) and placed s security watch on the engineer who attended the call out.

You're fucking joking surely? Do you expect anyone on here to believe you aren't some sceptre employee trying to paint the company in a good light?

I'll continue to pop buttons, as i've given up on getting the money i'm owed.

Same guy yes. I generally just drop in every now and then these days though, don't find the need to post anything really. Just thought I'd offer some advice to the guy who had his claim refused.

In case anyones interested I also tried the same thing with Gamestec senior management when a Spirit pub in Leeds area refused to pay a £110 IOU even though the engineer had signed it off and handed over the funds to the bar staff. They weren't as helpful and simply referred me to complain to Spirit as it was apparently down to their regional management to authorise release of the funds to the customer. I did get paid in the end though.
