Seen this at Langtries in Nottingham, even though the game is virtually the same it plays a lot differently and is incredibly harsh. Has anyone else seen this? it was on the Gamesnet platform.

Probably wouldn't look out of place if you saw it in the latrines at Nottingham...

I heard Barcrest might have snaffled the DOND license away from BFG, could this be something of theirs? Gamesnet platform?

Played one of these on a Gamesnet in Birmingham yesterday. Slightly altered from the BFG original in the look of it, and seemed more random on the points needed to reach the end game.

Think its Revolution that have done this new one, as it has their LOADING.... animation at the start.

Mind you, Kingzilla would sing BFG's praises, wouldn't he...

Only mentioned that it was not bfg because it looks the same but isnt

After my first sight of this I reserved judgement as I like to see games in several venues to get a better understanding of what they play like in different conditions. Now I've done that, all I can say is that "incredibly harsh" is about right - this one is hugely harder than the original. Given the longevity and success of that one it makes you wonder why anyone would try to break it in this way but it certainly goes in my Top 5 List of Good Games Made Bad. Two others in that list are definitely Take It Or Leave It and Spinner Takes All; I'll leave it to you guys to suggest the other two.

This edition of the Gamesnet, with the addition of the new DOND and a 'Darts Only' Bullseye (I bet THAT plays fair!

), might well have finally taken the place of the Paragon circa 2005 as the worst multi-game selection I have ever seen. It really is that bad.

I think I'd suggest The Great Pretender and Super Gold Run, both of which have suffered death by a thousand cuts, and appear to survive in £4-maximum-prize type variants on the Open.

After the initial version of Winning Lines, which I had great success on, a new version came out where the target score was regularly around 3,600-4,000 points. My best in what was probably a thousand efforts was 3,300.

Dishonourable mention to when Scrabble started putting a 20p in each corner of the endgame board and not a fat lot else.

the reprogrammed winning lines did get down to winnable levels but then any win would launch the required score into the stratosphere.
Unfortunately the original winning lines was abused or taken advantage of by a few who specialised in the game, not me I might add.It was a very enjoyable although mainly not profitable game for me.I miss it.Originally on itbox then gamesnet,finally Gamebox.

I came across the new version of DOND on a Gamesnet last night. I only played one game of it and therefore can't judge it's difficulty properly, although suffice to say I failed to reach the endgame. Graphically I thought it looked more basic than previous versions, which is a bit odd. I hardly ever play DOND nowadays and I doubt this new version will entice me to begin playing it much again.

I generally tend to steer clear of DOND now too. There's nothing quite so disheartening as seeing a 60,000+ target - which is generally what it always is now...

I have only played on DOND quiz machines the once. The target was 51000, and I didn't even manage past the first banker's offer, if that.
However you say it is disheartening to find yourself with a 60000 plus offer? Would that mean a mere 51000 offer is on the top or bottom scale of things with this machine?

Have you noticed that you can tell when its in harsh mode when it seems to always take away the 250000 early on.
