probobly not, i really should stop moaning about the 100% impossible skill game - BACTA get off your arse and do something!! At least a 'fairplay' style notice on the machines would be appreciated.

Ash, I play STD Deluxe using the same method as you and can confirm what you say about level 9 having only 4 differences with no helps or 3 differences with 1 help etc.

I think the deluxe version came out sometime last summer, I would regularly get to level 10 but didn’t get the jackpot until about mid September, since then though I have never got beyond level 9!

It is irritating but at least it is still a profitable game unlike STD2.

well thats interesting. I didnt think i would find an unchipped spot the difference again. Yesterday proved me wrong. Half an hour of my time to take £104 out the hopper until empty. Left me about £95 in profit!!!

Maybe i should go looking for more gamesnets running this old software. This was actually a golden touch machine (the old one with a poor quality tv screen as opposed to a flat panel or lcd screen). There were some bad reflections on the screen which made the puzzels hard to do. But it only cost me £2 to get to level 10 and complete this. Seven jackpots later and the hopper was empty. Had to be a bit devious and collect the money over several intervals, as the staff may of thoughot it suspicious that their quiz mahcine had paid out £100+ in 'winnings'.

Wish i had time to look for other unchipped machines. I was under the impression that Spot the difference deluxe was only ever released on the itbox in an unchipped form. This has now been proved wrong. I wonder how many other such mahcines are out there. I wish i bloody knew, i could do with the extra money.

Could be of help ash-where are you based?
Incidentally are you sure emptying the hopper is really the way forward here?
In my opinion there's a strong argument for taking, say, £20 a week but keeping it there for a while.Unless you definitely know it's about to go and then by all means milk it for all its worth.

anywhere around midlands really.

Well quite often i am only in a town for a few hours, so i can take £100 and will probobly never see the town again.

Im aware that any location with a 'gold touch' machine will have the old version of spot the difference deluxe on it. Thre machine with a normal television (not a flat screen TFT or LCD).

don't seem to be many of these around now, although i do know of a couple or so. Suppose these will be getting removed sooner or later though.

Ash

Not all 'gold touch' machines have the old version of STDD, I've checked out four machines in the Liverpool area since your post, two of them had the updated version (the other two were, of course, taken to the cleaners 8) ).

Interestingly though I found a Paragon machine that had the old STDD on it, so now when I play a new machine, I will reserve the freeze time for the 9th round on one of the first goes in order to give it a proper appraisal.

Hope this was of interest.

Interesting that BJ2006. I guess i have been lukcy that the three golden touch machines were all running the old version!!

Its difficult to imagine why all versions havn't been updated. After all, i believe that the updated spot the difference is part of a newer game pack. Surely the operators would wish for the latest games package to be on machines??

Having said that, the locations i have found these three machines in are not the kind of locations where machines get updated. I wish i knew the location of more, may take a trip over to derby to see if there are any around.

Out of interest BJ, will you be going back to the locations where you 'took the machines to the cleaners', or will you stay clear of them in the future. Surely when the operators come to re0fill the machines and fin them nearly empty, they will think something funny has been going on. Im a bit nervous with going to the same location twice although i don't know why i should be, ive done nothing wrong.

I imagine that after an operator finds a machine with a serverly low float they will get rid of it and eother issue a new package or terminal itself. I have noticed that places are starting to get rid of golden touch machines in general. I guess its only a matter of time before all the old version of spot the difference are gone forever.

I just hope i can find some more before they do!!!!............

I wouldn't be so sure. I rinsed Golden Showers on the same 50ish machines once a week for a couple of months before they took it off. Even if the company knows that a game is overpaying it is sometimes good publicity to keep it on. Mind you the stuff at the moment is mostly shit apart from Pop It (Which I called Fruitix before). I reckon there are still some loads of £20 JP WUs around too, I know there are 2 in Glasgow.
It is good that we all have different banker games.
No wonder I drink!

4 more goldern touch's played since my last post, unfortunately only one of them had the old software. It does seem to be hit and miss but I think the Goldern touches are the best bet at finding the old software.

I know what you mean, I now find myself walking into pubs I wouldn't have dreamed of a couple of months ago!

I have been back to one already though the purpose for going back was to sample the tasty looking Sunday carvery I had spied when there to play the machine. I did however wander over to the machine and found it switched off! I assumed this wasn't a coincidence! I have also walked past one of the other pubs about a week after playing it, I could see through the window that this machine was also switched off! I don't really have a problem with going back to these pubs, like you say we're doing nothing wrong.

With regard to tactics, I am now in two minds. Thus far I have continued playing until the hopper is empty, now for any new machines I am thinking of stopping at £40 or £60 so that the machine does not lock up, this should reduce the chance of the machine being upgraded.

Ash - If you're still checking in here, have you had any success lately?

I must have checked out around 8 old gamesnets in the last two weeks, every single one of them has been running the newer 'red' software package (the one with the red background which I believe is the newest package).

I find this highly suspicious as the red software is still quite rare amongst the new style gamesnets, I think I’ve finally been rumbled :(

If the 'old' style Gamesnet you are playing includes 'Deal or No Deal' then you have probably been rumbled - they appear to have fixed another of their 'leaky' games also.

I have noticed that some of the old golden touch machines have started to be removed. One was removed from a Skegness pub about three weeks ago, which was previously do-able.

I have also started to see some of the newer terminals getting rid of the 'chipped deluxe versions' even those these can't be causing any problems, the operators seem to be playing it safe. Many of the temrinals that previously had the chipped versions of deluxe, have now chaged their software packagesz for the one with that stupid 'spot which bit of the picture this image has come from' game!!! - whatever its called.

As i wont be going for some time now, i wonder if anyone would like to pay a visit to lincoln central train station cafe, as there was one in there a few months ago which i won about £100 on. Havn't been back since and i assume it has now gone or been updated.

If anyone is in the area it may be worth a check at least.

So overall, no luck really. Have just been playing the chipped versions which (if leaft for a few weeks within a number of pubs) can result in a nights profit of about £30. Have to leave them for a few weeks so the cluless punters can feed a few quid back into them. Apart from that, no luck really...

Out of interest i have found spot the difference deluxe recently on £1 a play instead of the normal 50p. However, this seems to be the only example in the area (on the gamesnet terminals).

Has anyone else come accross £1 play STD deluxe and what are your experiances of it if so??

Hi Ash

The £1/play seems to have appeared sometime in the last 2 weeks, I've played a few now so yours was not a one off, here are my observations.

1) In some cases they have replaced the 50p version however on other machines they have appeared alongside!

2) Where both appear I can confirm they keep seperate payout counters, you can rinse one version then do it again on the other, such machines will be nice little earners.

3) The 9th round still only has four differences (with no helps).

4) Not sure at this point whether they will be more profitable than the 50p version however it looks like you will be able to win that money quicker. For example, I played one last night, checked the scoreboard which seemed to indicate it had been played 5 times since being installed, on the first game it offered £10 on the 8th round with three helps! having won the £10 the 8th round then showed only £1 in the second game (which is of course pointless at £1/play). So, straight to £10 without having to go through the grind of multiple £1 games.

That's all I can think of, all in all if point 4 continues to be true I quite welcome the change.

P.s. Ash, check your messages as I've sent you something.
