Question time tonight - Nick Griffin
"The ICM survey for the News of the World found that almost two-thirds of voters feel the mainstream parties have no credible policies on immigration."
It's not just the lowest social demographics that vote BNP, it's also a proportion of those two thirds of people that feel strongly enough about immigration to vote amongst others.
Also i'd love to know how many people that berate the BNP will actually vote for them anonymously. If you could somehow find out who the million BNP voters in the euro elections were, i doubt the majority would happily admit it. That's my concern, due to the world we live in, i bet that a lot more people agree with some of what he's saying than they let on.

At least you can now find out who the actual members of the BNP are though!Drpepper wrote:"The ICM survey for the News of the World found that almost two-thirds of voters feel the mainstream parties have no credible policies on immigration."

The fact Nick Griffin was afforded air time on the BBC says more about the average English citizen's sheer disillusionment with the way this country is being run than anything else. When people begin to look for alternatives, and not just the BNP, to mainstream parties its clear that something has gone very wrong.
In this case its many things, the expenses scandal and endless broken promises on policies being key examples. Labour have lied their way through the last 12 years, promising much and ultimately delivering fuck all, all the while putting spin on every bit of bad press in a sorry attempt to hoodwink people into believing things aren't that bad. If Brown was to stand up and admit he'd failed and apologise unreservedly he would gain respect.
For all Nick Griffins venomous bile I strangely find him less snakelike than Brown or Cameron, and I don't know why.
Perhaps its because its a safe bet that whoever is next elected into power will end up being hated eventually anyway.
He was on a hiding to nothing going on tv, and was going to be painted in the worst possible light, something ensured by the constant stream of opposition. A true cross section of society? I think not.....
However it wasn't necessary to reduce the programme to the Nick Griffin Airs His Warped Beliefs Show, if he was handed a rope he would've hung himself.

Iwould have prefered a live debate. Even though, it was clearly a witchhunt with even Dimbelby getting in on the act.
At the end of the day if it had been a regular QT instead of the shambles it was then Griffin would have been given enough rope to hang himself, rather then make Joe Public feel sorry for him.
I did laugh a few times though, one when he made his (valid) points about Islam and the student/dyke/leftist audience couldnt manage to make a sound because deep down they knew he was right and on the couple of occasions when Griffin got clapped the whole audience turned to see who was clapping. That should be proof enough that the thing was edited, otherwise why cut to the audience at that point?
Sex is not the answer.

"Yes" is the answer!

I think the very liberated and socially comfortable Pokerpete would happily welcome another 10 million in with a revolving door policy in our ports and airports.harry2 wrote:UKIP will make progress in the current climate. How many people want another 10 million in the country ? None, I know of.
The country is a mess, and it is purely down to opinions like his.
I mean I am no racist, but why was there a sri lankan curry on britains best dish? diverse.
I am jetting off to Sri Lanka this afternoon, to compete in Sri Lankas best dish with my trademark Fish and Chips. I wonder how I will get on?

the issue is complicated and requires a great deal of attention from the major parties.
We don't have a revolving door, regardless of what the daily mail would have you believe.
there are two and a half million unemployed and I understand it's difficult to find the work you want, but there is enough work out there for everyone.
Our economy benefits greatly both from unskilled low paid immigrant workers and highly skilled immigrant proffesionals. The country simply cannot work without them.

I like curry.
Are you suggesting we should burn down the curry houses?
The answer to the question posed to Jack Straw, which was never answered; was clearly "Yes".
There is a problem, real or perceived, with immigration in this country. But the answer is not to support a fundamentally bigoted and thinly disguised fascist organisation.
For instance did you know that the BNP is opposed to allowing British Army Gurkhas the right of settlement in the United Kingdom?
As far as I'm concerned anyone who loyally fights for this country and is prepared to die for it should be more welcome than many of our "indigenous" population...
I would encourage anyone to read up on the BNP and it's policies and member's beliefs, it really does reveal them for what they actually represent, and it's not a vision of Britain that I want any part of.

I'm a lazy arse, where do I find these policies? I checked out the BNP website the other night in a bid to find them, but just got hooked onto a 'live' feed of Nick Griffin talking about solar panel heating made in Britain. Sorry. I didn't quite agree with what he was saying, so will endeavour to buy my solar panel heating cells from The National Front instead.
on their own website there's a drop down menu at the top with policies divided into (contradicting) sections.
For example in one section they explain how they will kick out current and refuse entry to any future foreign workers.
In a separate section it explains how they will ban foreign imported goods.
prepare yourself for £5k TVs then, because with all British workers and no imports, things are going to get very expensive and probably quite poorly made.
also, anyone with kids, get used to the idea of daily Christian worship, corporal punishment, learning by rote and British history (the BNP's version presumably, rather than actual facts) being top of the curriculum
public floggings will be back as well.
if you have any non british heritage since 1948, pack your bags.
In fact, ideally, your ancestors need to have moved in when the Ice melted 17,000 years ago
