Help me find out what this machine is!!!

Post by elixir01 »

Help! In the 90s I used to play on a machine at the back of shop. My description is vague but praying someone will know it!

It had a stick or twist feature where you could play pontoon with cards
It had a hi lo feature with cards

That's all I can remember, it always payed well and was about 5p/10p a play. Not even sure if there was a reel or not or whether it just had a display screen for the cards. This was around the time that my local arcade had cloud 999.

If anyone can help please please let me know. I would also like to know where I can but retro machines online, would live a simpsons, eastenders or coronation street machine.

Sounds like "Ask Dan to Deal 'Em"

Gamble up the middle 10p - 20p - 30p - 70p - £1 - £1.50 - £3.00 or similar ?

Sounds like Cardcash or Blackjack.

Did it have four reels?

When it holds on two jackpots, hold the first one. This'll tell you what chip it is.

I know the machine you are trying to find. Very similar to Ask Dan To Deal Em and around at the same time. It was 10p a go and if you got across the hi lo game it paid 20p. If you got a pair going across then it paid 40p. 2 pairs and 3 of a kind etc. paid more. It always paid out wins in 10ps, before the £1 tube was introduced.

The one I used to play did pay out very well to the point that it emptied. About a tenner in 10p coins as there was only a 10p tube.

Sounds like the one! Any one know what it was called?

logopolis- that sounds about right. I just remember that it was really easy to play and always payed well. The 10p coins ring a bell, when ever you won the pay out was really dramatic.

Does anyone else remember it or know the name? I tried a google search on 'ask Dan to deal 'em' but nothing came up so couldn't check to see if that was the one!

Have checked some of my old emulators and it's NOT chase the ace, blackjack or card cash (although thank you for reminding me of this machine, I used to love it)

Yep the machine paid out in 20p intervals and made the same rhythm for each 20p it paid out. Distinctive sound it was.

Why - if it's a particular chip, does holding just the first jackpot make the others drop in?
