im not totally convinced with taken ,,,,,,,, dont get me wrong , its a top film ,,,,,, but
it felt as though the whole project from cast to editing , fight scenes , plot , etc , was written around steven segal ,,,,,,,,, then he dropped out at the last minute for liam neeson to step in ,,,,,,,, all the better for it i might add .

dunno maybe its just me but it felt like a steven segal film all the way through it.

top top film though .

I know exactly where your coming from. I've also said to someone that it was like a steven seagal movie but without steven seagal.

i'm not gonna sit here reading this and let you lot slate steveseagull.

to keep this fair he has made /starred in /produced/directed and made the tea in many class movies such as ,under siege, marked for death, submerged, under siege, hard to kill, nico, under siege, belly of the beast, out for a kill......................and i really should mention under siege.

look at this way ,if he can single handedly carry channel 5's movie schedule, he must be alright.

re. taken ,steveseagull would have been good in the role but liam neeson(poor sod) excelled in it ,i thought.

semi - old thread alert/update.

benjamin button ,,,,,,,,, never has there been so many mixed reviews of 1 film ,,,,,, its like marmite , you ever love it or hate it ,,,,,,,,,,,, i personally thought it was good , ( maybe a little too long though) , great cast , great production values ,,,,,,, but misses out on great status ,due to the frankly unbelievable impossible story . ,,,,, still well worth a rent.

doubt , ,,,,,, not one for the action junkie's among you ,,,,,, and deals with a difficult subject matter , (child abuse) but well written ,,,thought provoking film , and meryl streep once again guarantee's a well acted story. (not withstanding mama mia ,lol) has she ever done a bad film?.

flawless , ,,,, a low budget offering staring michael caine and demi moore , surprisingly good diamond robbery caper

gran torino ,,,,,,,,,, superb urban gritty realistic film ,,,,,,,, staring clint eastwood ,,,, not what you would expect (the tv spot trailers you may have seen , are misleading ,) its not a dirty harry all guns blazing run of the mill actioner ,,,,,,,,,, its better thought out.

milk ,,, sean penn as a gay rights activist ,,,,,,,,, might not sound everybody's cup of tea , but it's fantastic , full of emotion , brilliant brilliant film , and a true story.

ive seen some mindless purile comedy's too , like role models and sex drive ,,,,,,,, both are only average at best , but have a cpl of piss yourself lol moments .

also tom cruise , valkerie ,,,,,,,,,,,, its ok , but only ok ,,,,,, dont expect anything more.

this leads me to slumdog millionaire , believe the hype ,,,,,, it's funny and harrowing in equal parts , and is simply unmissable .

any one else seen owt good.

Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)

best bit is this :) :) :) :D

Mitch Henessey: "You're telling me that you're going to 'fake some terrorist' thing just to scare some money out of Congress?"

Corrupt politician: "Well, unfortunately Mr. Henessey, I have no idea how to fake killing 4,000 people, so we're just going to have to do it for real. We'll blame it on the Muslims, naturally. Then, I'll get my funding

Wanted was a great action flick, one of my top 2008 films along with No Country for Old Men and The Dark Knight.

The Proposition is okay at best although I'm not a big Outback/Western movie fan. I did watch the remake of 3:10 to Yuma the other week which was pretty good and I purchased Seraphim Falls from HMV for £3 the other day.

The only other newish films I've seen recently are Madagascar 2 and Burn After Reading - both bored me senseless.

I buy films, I just don't watch 'em!
