Dave regarding your fruit machines, Do you choose not to know what's going on with them or are your suppliers hard work to get any info out of them??
Regarding your recent problem on Double DOND, Do you still not know what went wrong with it??
Do you now know how much is in there??
This highlights for me 1 of the real problems in the industry, Either landlords choose not to know or the suppliers do not provide enough information. Now that we're entering an era of serious money gambling rather than your change from your pint era, landlords really should be able to answer the majority of questions put to them regarding any problems.
These things are there to ean you money, so why do so many landlords just ignore them?? for e,g
My local spoons has got a machine situated where customers love to stand and lean on it, it just so happens that it always seems to be the only machine that I want to play in there but the amount of times over the last 2 years I've walked in and can't play it as there's a little group gathered round it leaning on it, and nothing gets said. So they're paying rent for something that can't get used.
there's a Vid on youtube at the moment of a landlord questioning someone playing a machine and recording it, He hasn't the foggiest what's going on, and duly get's shot down by the player and waddles off with his tail between his legs.
With all the tooling of recent years I'd expect every landlord to know exactly what to look out for.
Anyway Rant over :P

Heh, I have that problem - but a quick 'Excuse me mate, do you mind...?' usually get's 'em shifted...I've walked in and can't play it as there's a little group gathered round it leaning on it, and nothing gets said.

I think Dave sounds like he wants to know the ins and outs of his machines, hence him being on here. Dave, who is your supplier? Sorry if you've already mentioned it / son't want to splurge their name on here. lol
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
I have done in the past (depends how rough they look
) but the problem is, you just know it's not getting played much if theres always people leaning on it.
Typical that there's been 3 or 4 machines in there and they always put the red there :x

I've got one Spoons I play in and it's the same, the SAME group of drinkers near the machine every time. Doesn't matter if I'm there for doors or toddle over in the evening. They're always there. Sometimes some of 'em nip back home, but it's like that little spot is the office.
It's got to the point where they know me now and there's a bit of banter.
I think the old 'tsk, where are my mates?..tsk, left me in the pub on my own routine is wearing a tad thin', however they always move the chair out the way now and they don't play themselves, just like to watch or put the odd 10p in, so there's no conflict of interest which is usually when the bad kama starts.
Spoons do seem to position the machines badly. Tables about half a foot away from the machine seems stupid. Even if no one is sitting there you've got to play bolt upright. That's so frustrating when playing something like a HOF and you have to bend your neck in three places to see if you're gambling into something. Not so frustrating when playing 'The Big Deal'.

Cant go back to £35....already asked.
Spose its the same as we werent allowed to go back to £25 when the £35 came out.
Meeting today was cancelled - I gave the money out of the till to the player who was short changed - but this is the second time my machines have been off this week.
My ALIEN was off sat and sun coz an mpu battery had failed and the supplier (who I wont name) said they had none as it was a new machine.
The DOND gets played a lot more than the ALIEN machine - reason being the £70 prize is available on 50p play with DOND whereas the ALIEN machine only shows the £70 prize available when played on £1 a go.

I don't think anything can be quite as frustrating as playing 'The Big Deal'...Not so frustrating when playing 'The Big Deal'.

Dave: That isn't good news mate, hope things pickup. Maybe getting a 'Red' machine in (or dare I say it; another DOND!) will improve things? They can both certainly take the money, but the DOND offers the average punter a shot at the big prizes and the Red will attract play (and make a lot of money!) from regulars and players alike...

Double DOND - on 50p play somebody got jackpot - and it repeated - £140.00 payout today.
It paid out well over £100 yesterday.
Hopefully it will have taken the income to warrant this and my money wont be down yet again..............not convinced myself.
Makes a change to see things from the other side -I guess for you guys...........pls don't think I'm moaning - hopefully this means I get a bumper payday next week coz the machines are soooooooo full !
Oh and the note changers now off again..................so guess its low on pound coins yet again !!!!!

Come on you surely know if they payout big, they'll have to take MUCH more to compensate for this. You'll get your profits don't worry... as for £70's I've seen loads more mug players playing them than they did on £35 jackpot machines, so they WILL make more money.... PATIENCE!!!whiteswan wrote:Double DOND - on 50p play somebody got jackpot - and it repeated - £140.00 payout today.

Also Alien has £70 advertised on the cash column and sides of the board even on 25p play!!!! On 50p play it says mega streak at the top of the cash column, which is a £70 minimum win - perhaps this is not clear to you or your players?
