Bully (101 or More)

Post by Matt Vinyl »

I always have a game of Bully and usually come away from it with enough for an additional pint (just!) but often 'bulls-up' the 101 game. ItBoxes are simple to do because of the jerky movement of the reticule, bull, bull, anywhere on the board (not a wire - done that before! :o ops: ) But, on any other platform, I almost always hit the wire around the bull, or get the outer. The main point is, do most of you go for b/b/1+ or any other easier technique? ;)

I should just 'get better' at it I s'pose... :o ops:

for the time being, always play double stake and always gamble ((if it is SSG) the old star prize version on ind:e only gives £1 extra).
my feeling is that paragon is easy and smooth, sometimes it will make you hit the wire on the middle but then you need to get a trickyish 3x17 which doesn't seem to cheat. doubling-double terminals are getting more scarce but it is an occasional bonus.
on my limited experience on itbox, there appears to be two or three different reticule behaviours (useful word, thanks) but none are especially difficult/unfair. ind:e is only good for getting a cheap (£5) bullseye occasionally. given the throughput this gets from groups of barflies, it refloats itself very quickly compared to most games. always worth a go, even if it is asking for 801.
nobody ever wins on those things.

Heh, yeah I've seen that too, and not just on Bully either. I think ItBoxes just run a huge amount of background stuff that sucks processor time away from the games! Probably the next update downloading, or something.

It isnt the target score which is the issue, it is the points it offers per Q.
701 is a doddle if it offers 100 per bull everytime.
601 can be a bitch if offering 50/25 every Q.

It is on a gamesnet and dont play it anymore as it stutters.
Used up all nine darts in the cash round once without hitting a prize! Wasnt pretty :x
Monopoly also shudders, but in redemption i did manage to hit the 4th station for a tenner
In Gustavo Augusto Poyet Dominguez we trust.

okay bad turn of phrase: even when it is asking for 801, you can normally still double your money (as compared to some other paragon games where you are whistling in the wind for any prize if it is being grumpy).
nobody ever wins on those things.

Yeah,
I have played and won a few times but the target score can sometimes be very harsh and with spoiler questions too to boot....every now and then i get a 201 but most of the time i get 601,701 with tons of questions...bugger...

Have hit the wire before with the 3rd dart trying to show off by hitting the treble 20 when a simple single 1 would have sufficed

50,50 20 for me. Every now and then I hit the bull wire so always play safe on the final dart.

As you can see I'm bored (going back to Feb). I know this is an old thread but I'm finding "oop North" that 601-801 is the "norm" these days and have had £4.00 and £6.00 (albeitfrom 2 or 3 x £2) wins on 601 regularly without a 100 in sight. I assumed it was just that it was getting regular play but not enough to bring the scores down significantly.

Double bet is always fair in my opinion. It's not the game per se but rather the platform that it is on, which also varies depending upon the age of the processor driving that particular box. Hence I find that some Gamesnets are ok, whilst others are not and so on for other platforms.

From a difficulty level point of view, it 's just not worth bothering on 801, and when the gamble only offers the £4 (as opposed to the £5) why bother? There's are 000's of the things out there so why beat yourself up?

Agreed. However many Paragons still offer "extras". £2 to £5 to £8 or in the cases I was describing £6 to £11 to £16 is a whole different kettle of fish.....
