Question on Nuts

Post by mattdm_uk »

The question was something like "X amount of dancing bears and elephants made it off the Titanic and got jobs elsewhere". True or false.

SURELY, we said, that's FALSE. Why would anyone waste lifeboats on elephants? Would they even be able to hold them?

NO, says the Itbox, that's true. No money for you.

I've had a quick Google, and the only site I can find to back this up is here - http://www.comedy-zone.net/triviazone/history/page3.htm - along with sites that reference this one.

Who writes these questions? Other sillies we've had more recently have been questions proclaiming that Ciskei is a country (Hex Appeal), and that Steve Bull was in England's 1998 World Cup Squad (Fantasy Football). It's beyond belief.

That's life Matt. I can't comment definitively on the Titanic story but I agree it sounds suspect. A lot of the true-or-false questions on Nuts are very irritating: my success rate on them at one stage was so far under 50 per cent I wondered whether something odd / dishonest was afoot, but to be honest I suspect I was just being a muppet.

I agree with you that the Steve Bull error on FFQ is really irritating. That cost me money too, the first time I saw it.

I think it was the season 1 cliffhanger - Cartman's mum is also his dad.

I was playing NUTS the other day and on the Sports Photo round I only had to pick 3 sports stars from those shown. Kevin Peitersen, Andy Murray and Kim Clijsters were there amongst a few other I had noted.

Went for KP 1st (it was the photo where he looks like a blonde skunk during the Ashes 2005 series) and wrong appears, game over! Should have known as I had already won £2 a couple of goes before, how dare a SWP pay twice in 20 mins!

Bit naughty, so like the mug player I am, put another pound in and played £1 hex only to be given a tough 2nd rd, game over!

I'll be back...
