Not entirely sure why there are six characters for the score. A piss-take?
Still kicking about.

Just remembered - we saw a 'HYENA' score on Christ Church's machine in Oxford.

(Also 'HULLHULL's at UCL)

I can't remember the last time I went on a word-up machine in London that didn't already have a 'Hyena' in the high-scores. If there were a prize for most machines played on, I think Hyena would win it.
Congratulations on breaking 2000, VB. That truly is an amazing achievement.
With words of 600+ and scores 2000+, perhaps the only remaining landmark is to get 40 words, unless some-one's already done that. I doubt it as it's not the most rewarding way to play the game.
Some-one mentioned that the new version of Word-Up now allows a few q-but-no-u words like QWERTY. Anyone know what the others might be?

You can't get 40 words, you could get 39 with all of them 3 letters, and clearance. We did this already, and got a score of 1334... weak.

Ernest says this rather dismissively, considering that I only managed this last Sunday, after he had somewhat disappointingly abandoned me to return to base rather than brave another day on enemy soil.

The score is high because I cleared - lower clearances than that are very much still possible!

As a challenge how about a clearance with the fewest words? I reckon 20-25 would be possible.

On a different point my itbox was on prozac today. First game £1 at 500ish I got to 1100 but couldn't clear so lost. 2nd game £1 at 1750. next game £1 at 550 again. :?

But surely if you did you would expect a very high points score anyway?

Or, in the same vein, highest average word score on clearing (minus clearance bonus). Eg. our 2070 mark would be (2070-500)/28 = 56pts per word.

as well as travelling throughout the south, Hyena is into lets say recreational drugs too.
anyway afaik QWERTY is allowed but for some reason SQUILLION has been taken out, i'm sure i played that on the old version.
also i'm pretty sure i have cleared with 25 words before, no idea where though but i'll keep an eye out.

New individual record: 1987pts - Golden Lion, Ipswich. 8)

Followed by a lacklustre 1914 and pathetic 1508 non-clearance (=60pts/word).

Will post photo tomorrow, once I've been back to try to add more big scores.

it is a curious paradox that the game itself allows VAGINAL but the score board doesn't. the same is true of BLOWJOB.
