They were great tonight. Did us proud! all over the Germans for a lot of the game, and did really well to bounce back (JT from that mix up) Spot on!
Still as a United Fan I I never liked him, but he scores goals at the RIGHT times.. HO HO HO! I respect him more now. He is a great leader of our National side, and I always prefered his appointment to Rio

Anyway, England - Good to see us breaking that 35 year unbeaten run of Germanys too. Good performance all round - why is Carrick not utilised more for England?

Carrick is a good ball player, but that alone is not enough for the holding role. His tackling and hounding is quite poor, and he appears nonchalant when not in possession.
Hargreaves would be charging around trying to break things down when not in possession.
Barry seems to be a mix of the two, not as good a passer as Carrick, nor as good a tackler as Hargreaves, but probably the more rounded of the three.
That to me is the selection problem.
