Old Sound Files
Old Sound Files
This may seem a bizarre question, but is there anyway of getting the sound files from some of the older emulated machines?
I know in 9.4 and 10.1 you can just go to the samples and save them but what about say Grand National which only runs in 3.2? When you go to samples on this version it lists nothing!!
Can anyone help???

Yeah the latest emulators 9.4 etc save the file(.wav) in the same folder as the machine files. Some phones dont play .wav files so you have to convert them to mp3 files. You can do this on one of the music packages downloaded for free on tinternet. Goldwave I thnk i used. Good luck.
I want the 'find the pea' tune on my phone from the old ace machines. Someone must know how this is done.

I think the Bcrest 'Hey check it out' alarm could cause some turned heads in the arcades!
PMK: if you can hear it on the pc you can record it using windows sound recorder found under Start->Programs-> Accessories->Entertainment
But with FME 3.. you have to press record then switch back to the game, as when you switch away from FME 3 to another app the sound goes off.
No SW required, saves it as wav file

Heh, I had the 'Hey, check it out!' as a message alert a little while back.
I think that even games that do not work in the version of the emulator that allows you to save samples, will open in it. I tried a layout that I knew didn't work and it opened, I went straight to samples and they were there. May only be certain Roms though...
In other words, even if they don't play, it seems you can still get at the sounds!

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

I can try and dig it out from my old laptop a bit later on. I think I had to merge the 'Hey!' with the 'Check it out!' as I'm sure they were two samples. Sounds spot on though.
Ah, the dread those four words would bring sometimes!
