Many moons ago I went on holiday to st ives in cornwall, where outside the harbour amusements there was acouple of pikeys with one of these monstrosities.
£1 a go, ride the crazy bike 20 yards, round a lamp post and back and win a tenner, how hard could it be? bellowed a gap-toothed dishevelled gentleman, while his undernourished son/nephew/cousin rode around gleefully, with consumate ease. Indeed, despite sensing it was obviously as rigged as the pushers in the arcade, it did look rather easy. The clincher for me was when a "customer" approached, paid his pound and proceeded to perform the task, with great aplomb, as a gathering crowd clapped and cheered in approval. The problem was the victorious customer had all the traits of a caravan dweller, ie, teeth out, earring, poor grasp of the Queens English, and what really gave it away, one of those hideous Kenwood nylon jackets, that did the rounds in the early 90's.
Eventually a genuine customer, probably high on something, gave away a pound. He emerged from the pavement moaning that he tried to go straight, but it was rigged to pull to the left, so when he attempted to correct it by turning right, he went even sharper to the left and ended up on his arse.
Highly amusing....
There was a route 66, a game made by Castle and some other gems of yesteryear in the arcade by the way.

Here's the hook. The mark walks up to the bicycle. Jess stands on the grass looking really fit. The big guy with the beard does funny stuff with cards and lulls passers by into a false sense of security. The other guy sits in a Transit van knocking up fake ID and doing other clever stuff with the hash key on his mobile phone. Someone flogs this to the BBC.
Best description of Real Hustle ever...

oh my god them stackers are great. i won ........... absolutely fuck all everytime ive played em.
been offered a 10p keyring a few times off minor prize but decided what the hell ,i wanna see a few more flashing lights for my 50p and of course i lost everytime.
the jump on the top row is silly , hit it bang on and it skips a mile ( as prev mentioned ) its like trying to hit £15 on a toggle climb..... it aint happening.
a guy i know ( a semi assocaite , certainly not a friend ) has the best idea
walk in with the original stacker key, open it ,snip the sat navs and the nintendo dses walk out and dont spend a penny.
