What is the current jackpot amount?

I have played 4 titles between 2002 and 2007 and the jackpot was generally £250. Thankfully I never got onto the club bandwagon, so it's just those 4 I've played: Dungeons & Drag Queens, Monty Python, Crazy Fruits (one of the million variations of it), and an Egyptian-themed one that began with the letter T.

Also, if standard-jackpot AWPs are cat C and the casino-style £500 slots are cat B3, what are clubbers classed as?

Also, probably unrelated to clubs - what was it meant by "section 16"? I'm guessing that they were lo-techs of some description. Such machines seemed to come and went without me noticing as I'm focused on AWPs. I just remember hearing the phrase a lot around 2006/7 and apparently they were dangerously addictive like the B3s are now.

Not sure about your query re: current clubber JP amount - I think they are still at £250.

S16s are essentially what B3s are now. Although I think they could be / were up to £2 a spin. Not sure if there was any other difference as I really didn't play them (thankfully!)

Thanks a lot Matt. Sorry for my slight 'noobish'-ness of the query, as clubbers and high stakes have never really been my area.

I did give a B3 (Reel King) a couple of punts last Summer. After 2 high wins though (£70 and £102), I pledged to stay away from them and I kept my word. The irony is that I recently managed to trump both aforementioned figures on a bog standard AWP!

Clubbers are cat. B4 - that is to say that they have an upper stake limit of £1 and an upper JP limit of £250. This categorisation is the main reason why you don't see many machines like Club Cops'n'Robbers or Club Psycho Cash Beast on £500 (B3) or £1000 (B1) JPs, as the landlord has to pay a much higher levy.

Cat B2 covers Fixed-Odds Betting Terminals that you see people glued to in the bookies and have a different set of stake/prize rules.

Slightly of topic ... Was/is there something on a low jp big brother? Used to know of one but it was possibly the worst £5 machine i've ever played, knowing the arcade it'll probably still be there... Hints??

Back on topic ... Does anyone actually play club machines (£250 jp) anymore?? With the B3 £500s and a fairly good chance of >£100 wins on cat C surely the club (B4) sector is now almost redundant

Good point. It does strike me as odd that you need to be a membership holder of the place where a clubber is i.e. snooker club, and yet you can walk into an arcade and play their B3s.
