Rocky
What a thoroughly entertaining machine this is?
After going doubles on a few things and sorting out cash backs etc we had a few spare coins and chucked them in this wonderful machine. It was full.
I, in my wisdom decided I would play for a board............
Oh dear......................
£140 in for my 1st board. I was left with £3 and £5 so I decided to take hit or miss which gave lose!
Another £70 in (£210) in total I get my second board. £5.
Another £40 in and it finally starts to play a little better. Get about £100 back from a few decent reel wins and FINALLY a £35 board.
Curious as to what the Mega Streak will do, I decided to carry on. £90 back in and MS is finally given. It goes for £50. I leave it with £80. £170 down in about 20 mins.
Barcrest..............You can't beat these 50p per play mega payouts can you?
Yet another machine, in my "Never Play Again" archive.
As anyone had anything HUGE on these? I presumed it was a refil, but cripes a little bit of value from £250 is not to much to ask for. £210 in for my 1st board win? That is a disgrace.

Clearly you should have realised something was wrong after the first £15 or so? In fact, I find this really hard to beleive - not in the fact that I think you're telling untruths, just that I can't beleive any machine could be this cold and dead, surely?£140 in for my 1st board.
I do remember that a Maygay machine could go for £40+ without offering a hold (Hot Shot?) but to go nearly four times that much without a sniff of even a board is criminal!!
Is there a pic of this anywhere? I know 'crest made a £250JP Rocky machine, and Red made a £35 jobby (was actually pretty good - although may have had a few Sub-Zero tendancies!). I've not heard of a £35 'crester.
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
Its a lo-tec!! They are in many an arcade down south.
Should have binned it early doors I know, but even it it had of been £30 - £50 for a board, I would have accepted it.
Some of the new £35 lo-tecs are just awful. £35 Party Time Double Decker wotsits are the lowest of the low. These can go over £200 without giving a feature.

i played one of these in cleethorpes (by gum, an awfull town btw) and actually got away with it. same situation, full but refilled, cost bout £30 for the first board (luckily apparently!). was in the middle of castigating my mate who had insisted on playing it when the 'cash or bust' style feature gave 35, which repeated!!! we cashed out and then i decided to have the 'ol one more pound, which as i'm sure we all know can lead to ruin. however the board spun back in, red (for those interested the rocky name of the board is the one that goes) and dose another £35 jp on the knockouts. not bad for £30-40 in, though clearly exceedingly lucky.
slightly of topic, but has anyone ever been brave enough to play 'action sevens', pictured below?

I'm guessing this is a clone of s34 plasma Elvis which cost £30 for my first board in Thomas's. Graphically very similar to the s16 and if the roulette feature stops on the Mega wotsit game, you eliminate values, hopefully leaving MS. A poor game, bit I got off light with my £30-£40 quick slap. I thought Barcrest lo-tech yawn shite goes all plasma and £35ey. Think a red hot roll hammered by the bingo grannies. I didn't push for Mega. % was awful for an arcade 82% on 30p and 86% on 50p Mega spin. Pure crap. Looks like this is one where you park your chair horizontally.
