Bank Volt
Bank Volt
I spotted the Leisure Link van unloading this new Barcrest this morning - so I returned to the scene of the crime after work to have a look.
It's bloody awful. I mean, shocking...
Now I've never played Take Your Pick, but I've seen pictures of it - and I can see that Bank Volt is almost certainly a partial clone.
10p/Normal Spins
30p/Super Game/Numbers x2
50p/Mega Game/Numbers x4
1-8 trail, then up into a nudge trail from 1 - 16 nudges. It's a turbo gamble. Nudging in a win moves you over to the cash trail on the other side, which is a hi/lo trail.
Winning gambles up the cash trail awards shots at the cash and feature boards, and hitting 'Bank Volt' knocks out amounts from a DOND-style board in the middle. You can then choose to 'Open Volt' or leave it and continue gambling in the hope that you can knock out some more of the smallest values.
Gameplay is terrible - I was £120 into this beast (at least £100 of that went over the back) when I finally broke through the £15 block ... only to find a £20 block! After £130+ it relented and let me up to £35, which I went higher on for MS. Flat £35. Next board, £35 cash shot. Bit obvious really. Next board, Selector lands on 16 nudges and the JP is only 7 nudges away - again the MS goes for £35 and no more.
Approx £142 in for £105 out. I try for one more board ... but £6 later it still hadn't given a board, so I stopped. £33 loss, and I wanted to burn this monstrosity to the ground.
Argh!

You could well be right - I made a beeline for the 50p/x4 option as usual and didn't really take a great deal of notice of the other options.DJJPurple wrote:Think you got the stakes wrong if it's like Open the Box (Take Yer Pick)

It offered the £15 cash shot on the second board, and I wanted to try it out (hoping for a quick pot) but it didn't quite go according to plan!harry13.50 wrote:I would personally never force a brand new machine straight from " facrory reset " the percentage is all screwd up to start with.
lol no - it's in west London.harry13.50 wrote:Was this machine in Fife ?
Bank Volt - it's a rather poor play-on-words. The artwork has a metallic/electric design to it.rocket wrote:Bank 'Volt' or Bank 'Vault'?
I saw an Open The Box today - and without playing it I could straight away see that Bank Volt is a direct clone of OTB.

I think that Barcrest might have 'the arse' that they didn't get the DOND contract, and now they're trying to 'keep up' with these piles of dross.
I don't know why you'd ever want to take the OTB feature, as surely it's just like collecting mystery win on most other machines, and could be a piddly quid? Although to be fair, I've only played it once, and thankfully it was replaced by a £35 OAR.

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
Funny you mention that ob!
The OTB here was flying earlier, and as i'd made a few quid beforehand, i chased it (despite vowing never to again previously).
I wasn't a great deal in, and got a screen hint that says 'box contains MS'. Excellent, took that for a cracking flat £35. Good Times and £10 next board, rechased it. Oh dear, another costly mistake.
In went my £60 bagged coins. In went the £35 bank. In went every coin bar 3 i had in my pocket, making it around £140 in before it went. MS did a reasonable £80. Get a red JP shot (no repeat) immediately after, followed by Crazy Reels for £17, and Bar Series for £9. Dead after. Lost about £30 on it in the end, utter tripe.
Never again, and i mean it this time! :P :x

"Sixty percent of the time, it works, every time!"
Yeah, when i saw it the amount just flashed for a bit and made a noise, happened when i pressed the 'leave it' button.ob wrote:you cant really play around with these, as the boards can cost £10+, so best just leave them alone! BTW has anyone ever seen the amount in the box flash up before taking it? I remember the supertip on the crest site mentioning it
